That family sounds like a bunch of boring a-holes. I can't STAND being around people like that - who can't handle intelligence and observation.
Forget them - next time you're in that situation and you can tell you are way above everyone's heads - just leave. Its not you - its them.
If they don't even have the manners to pretend to understand what you're saying - then they have nothing to offer you.
