I have two older brothers. Both of them are NT. My twin brother who was born 4 minutes after me is also NT. I'm the only Autie.

I'm a first-born male.

As a kid I was very effeminate and I've always looked younger than I am. As for being good-looking, I'd say I'm average.

The picture of your eyes on flickr says something completely different. I will not go into specifics here, but I can actually read off off that little picture a lot of other physical qualities not shown in the picture. The skin and facial structure around the eyes actually suggests a near perfect appeaence. If I apply a couple of algorithms for a worst case scenario appearence, it is still pretty good compared to average. Based on that picture, I could probably draw a potrait and be around 75% accurate, after taking my art skills into consideration. And Hala, I am by no means obligated to say that, and I speak my mind about people's appearence, if you are ugly and ask my opinion, I am going to tell you you are ugly (I am yet to meet someone who is truly ugly via genetics, and hasn't brought ugliness upon themselves though). On that note, one of the most beautiful women I have ever met had a large scar across her chin, but the colour of it against her skin actually brought out her natural beauty even more so.

First born male... Although, with being transexual, I don't think it counts that I was born male, as I have never associated well with it in my life.

Now as for myself... I hate my current appearence, it is too male for me... But based on what other people have said, I am fairly attractive and have wonderful facial characteristics (which according to a transgender community are actually pretty feminine for a male born prior to any augmentation), and I am also told I have a very charismatic appearence.

Second born female.

I say the whole issue of looks goes back to whether or not you can maintain good looks. Since many of us with aspies have difficulty maintaining certain aspects of our looks we think that we are average in beauty than we are.

Being slow on the upkeep that I am, I've come to actually realize that I've been called beautiful and cute alot (the latter moreso to the point of absolute annoyance). I have a hard time maintaining my face to avoid zits and acne so I have a lot of scars from constantly picking that brings my look down a notch. I also dont wear makeup or do my hair very neatly. I also have been eating a little more than I should be. These are things that I can control if I'm willing but it's not easy.

My very ASish friend is the baby of his family. He does not look very much like the one sibling of his I have met. Some people have called him skinny and bald and weird looking. I say he looks very graceful like an elf.

first born female.

I don't think you should be saying that autistics are unusually more "beautiful". it just makes those that don't see themselves that way think of another way they don't fit in it, knowhatimsayin?

Key thing there "that dont think of themselves that way"... Odds are there is someone who will find such a person beautiful. Just be careful of their intent.

First born. I'm adopted so I don't know family history but I know that much.

"Other-worldly" looking? I'm not sure what that means exactly so you tell me.

Aww, thanks so much, Padium. :D I wish I could believe that. Maybe one day I will.

I think you have a charismatic appearance too and I think you have a feminine quality to your eyes and nose. You have a soft appearance which will work well as female.

I'm middle child and female. Average looks i think.

My daughter who may or may not be AS is first born and exceptionally beautiful, people compliment her often (but she is mixed race which i find a better explanation than her possible AS traits) meh, eye of the beholder and all that.

I'm the youngest of six children, and female. I'm the only diagnosed Aspie of my siblings, although I suspect my eldest brother (#2 in the birth order of my mom, #1 in birth order for my dad) has traits. He gets so uptight due to unexpected change, you could shove a piece of charcoal up his rear and have him expel a diamond 30 seconds later

My first-born son and my younger daughter are both on the spectrum.

As to beauty, that's just one of those things. I used to model as a young adult, and both of my kids are considered attractive in their own ways. My daughter, in particular, is normally asked why she isn't competing in beauty pageants (which I consider a severe waste of time, money and perfectly good synaptic receptors).

I do think the looks part is relative, especially since what is considered "beauty" in one country, or even a particular region, may not be the ideal for another area. Thus, my daughter's looking like Jolie Blonde (Cajun mythical figure) may not be considered beautiful at all in another country.

To be perfectly honest, my first thought when looking at your photo was "that guy could be the son of British character actor Patrick Murray", which is actually a good thing, IMO. Not particularly otherworldly though. When I think of "otherworldly" I think of my (beautiful!!) daughter's tranced-out expression while stimming.

By "other worldly" I think I meant a facial expression that indicated your mind was elsewhere. In that picture, I'd say the person sort of has what some might consider to be "crazed serial killer" eyes. (Sorry if that was blunt... :) ) His eyes are atypically wide and his face is fairly blank.

Not autistic but very Aspie.

I'm a 3rd born female, and I'm not very pretty, just very 'raw' looking.

i'm sorry to offend you bury...please give me another chance and reread my OP

i was just commenting that i occasionally see those 2 characteristics of first born male and unusually good looking CHILDREN

i am the last of the litter and 2nd born male so that shoots that theory for me, however, i know 3 autistics off the top of my head and they are the first born male.....and i wasnt talking about females here

next it is unusually good looking children, not teens or adults, lol that i am talking about

i just wanted to discuss why i occasionally see these 2 events in research....so much thanks for your response and i hope i clarified myself.....take care

I think of myself as having been a rather ugly child, but all I have to base that on is old photos, and self judging is never a good thing... But on that, I was a pretty ugly child for a female, as a male I probably looked alright...
