You were all so wonderful. I loved every single one of you. I am so happy that I was able to attend. It wasn't at all what I expected (which is a good thing). Everyone is WONDERFUL and sweet and friendly. I hope I get to see you again. I am in such a great mood. I spent this whole morning talking about it. I've never felt so easily comfortable in a large group before. I am very appreciative of everyone's kindness. And James is happy that I wasn't kidnapped (he wanted me to say so). Yesterday was my 12-hr socializing period. I haven't had one of those in a while and very much missed them. You are my new family -- good thing because I really don't have one.

For anyone who didn't get my myspace information while at the meet up:

Thank you, Allan, for emailing me concerning this get together. I am eternally grateful.

AND I HOPE WE GET TO HIT THE BODY WORLDS EXHIBIT BEFORE IT CLOSES AT THE NATURAL SCIENCE MUSEUM! *excited*

And Olivia, you are absolutely ADORABLE! And Stephanie is a DOLL! She needs to be collected!

I'M HAPPY! *jumps around* I feel like breaking out in a Big Gay Al song.

Okay, okay. So, I just did an online self-assessment, because I get anxiety taking tests when I don't know what to expect. I went to: http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php

my results are:
Your Aspie score: 188 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 20 of 200

Some questions were tricky for me, because I've worked to adjust a lot of my initial issues, but instead of answering it as how I USED TO BE, I answered based on how I am now, which apparently means -- I haven't corrected enough of my weird quirks.

Here is the visual chart:

Image

I don't exactly understand how to read it, but maybe some of you can *shrugs* (What is this "Hunting" thing???? And why are the results graphed in lines rather than JUST points? I don't see how one section directly correlates with adjacent ones validating a use for line connectors. Well, whatever. At least the numbers make sense to me)

So, I feel more comfortable seeking a diagnosis now, I suppose.

Detailed results:

Aspie Talent (9.9)
NT Talent (0.5)
Aspie Compulsion (8.8)
NT Compulsion (0.9)
Aspie Activity Pattern (10.0)
NT Social (0.7)
Aspie Communication (10.0)
NT Communication (0.7)
Aspie Hunting (8.0)
NT Hunting (1.3)
Aspie Perception (10.0)
NT Perception (1.6)

Questions I scored at least partially on the NT side:
13, 21, 28, 32, 47, 71, 75, 90, 93, 94, 97, 98, 100, 102, 104, 118, 124, 128, 135, 142

Anyone else taken this assessment yet?

My roommate is
Aspie: 100 of 200 / NT: 102 of 200; big difference.

I'm SUPER, thanks for asking......

It was a BLAST.

I was mentally drained by 11:00 PM last night though.

I had a blast. I'm not the most socially 'out there' person, but I tried to fit in with everybody.

Met a lot of nice people, saw a lot of different AS traits, and heck I may even get a JOB outta this!

What was the name of that church you were talking about?

I may check out while I'm here, when I have more time and energy.

I do wish the church web site, although creative, better represented the actual feel of the facilities. its an atrtists church, where creative people can be in a place of spiritual healing and fellowship while still having opportunity to maintain thier personal comfort zones.
for example, there is a coffee bar in the foyer. it is fine to wander in and out of service with your coffee and cookies. There is a coloring table if, thats your thing. there is not a build-a-computer corner, but the lobby is wired with WiFi and a PC is provided for the computer-less.
The pastor is a regular guy in jeans and nappy sweater. and doesnt get too heavy.
Although all this is nice , I hope folks come for the true blessing, the word of God, shared by our humble pstor. Coffee is a nice perk, but the soul needs peace. the kind of peace found in trusting Jesus with our heavy cafinated hearts.
SO

That was quite a get-together! I appreciate everyone for sharing their time, energy, and trust. A lot of things fell into place to make this meaningful and memorable. Olivia, thanks again for the food and allowing us to frolick inside SHFL :) And Jeffrey, thanks for introducing Shana to the others; she provided a lot of insight and hope.

incoming missiles from the vicinity of Taft Street Coffee]

<giggling>

Seriously, you two are wonderful and I am so happy that
I know some Aspie girls that are as sweet and kind as you!

OFFICIAL NOTICE:

My little yellow "Radio Flyer" wagon is street legal
and rolling effective today! It passed it's final
emissions test today, Jan 1st it turns 24 years
old and will never have to take the test again!

I was nearly convinced I was going to have to
buy two new doors and I may still need to get
a drivers side door, the jury is still out on that
but at least it shuts and latches now...

It took the test with a tank of gas from 2006
and passed (I'm wondering if the old gas had
helped it any) with flying colors. The brake pedal
still goes WAY too far down, but will stop the car.
I put a bunch of miles on it today and it purrs
like a kitten...

When is the January meetup scheduled?

I am wondering if it will be in the first half of the month, because I would like to squeeze in one more before I go back to San Marcos (I go back on January 17th)
