Regarding the post by mw99, you'd be really surprised by how a model looks sans makeup, lighting, digital retouching, hair extensions, etc.

There are girls with a natural beauty that will show regardless of what they're doing, but the majority of models today look NOTHING like how they appear in magazines. Even they say that.

I don't think being beautiful disqualifies you from being an aspie, if that's what you were trying to get across. I'm sure there are some very beautiful people here on WP.

Here's an example of what I mean regarding the "fakeness" of modeling. It's made it's rounds on the internet already but it was from Dove regarding real beauty.

They said Heather had the best photo but she got kicked off because she can't communicate, yet the clients loved her?

Well Saleisha is going to win... even though she already worked for tyra before the show.

this show is obviously rigged.

The point of that was that the clients she had to go see didn't get any communication; she didn't get to most of them at all, and the one that she did manage to find in time wasn't happy about her communication style. The (potential) clients that would love her are the ones who have seen her on the show; she doesn't need to impress them with her personality as much, because they've seen the pictures she's taken. However, had she not been on the show, they wouldn't know that, and most of them wouldn't hire her. If someone doesn't hire her, there's not going to be an excellent photo... That was the point this time.

I thought it was pretty fair. Don't get me wrong, I liked Heather; I hoped she would win, and she was my favorite girl there. I was sad that she didn't get to stay... But at the same time, I understood. It gets to a point where you have to be able to wow everyone, even in an interview; you have to be able to get there. Honestly, I think that if anyone else had done exactly the same thing, she would have been kicked off, and no one would be crying foul.

It's amazing that she did as well as she did; I'm sure she will get clients now if she wants to continue modeling.

The other girls were actually being kind of nice this time too (sometimes anyway); that was a good thing.

Well, she's the only girl who looks like a real model.

She had the best shots consistently. She was robbed.

What makes it really unfair is that a Salesia, who's barely a model, hasn't produced any better than mediocre film, and has worked for Tyra before, (which means should be disqualified from the show based on the show's own rules) is going to be crowned the winner.

Here's the Transcript.

Critique of Heather's picture.

Tyra: Heather...

Chinese woman: I personally liked her look.

Nigel Barker: Everyone is going to like Heather. At least her look. Probably she can't communicate very well.

Twiggy: How is she in front of the camera, can she move? Can she...

Nigel Barker: She does but it's like a disconnect. She doesn't move for the camera. It's almost as if the camera just sees this beautiful thing, zones in on it.

Bottom two

Tyra: (Addressing Heather and Jehna) Both of you take probably the strongest pictures of all of the five girls in this room right now. Both of you guys, have something when it comes to communication. Not the strongest communicators. With you, Heather, if you are so fantastic to us judges, and on photoshoots, you can't make it to ... It's nearly impossible for you to book a job. Will Heather stand in this industry? As beautiful as you are, standing in front of me, obviously that's not enough. And then we have Jehna, amazing photos, but an attitude that turns off the judges. So who goes to Beijing? (Silence) Jehna.

Tyra's final words to Heather

Tyra: You came so far, you have to be so proud of yourself. Those clients that you saw, don't know Heather. But the people that have gotten to know and love you, watching ANTM, and being a part of your journey, maybe there are some clients out there that can see a little bit more than what those clients saw today. Okay? (Heather nods)

Heather's final monologue

Heather: I really wanted to win. I wanted to prove that I could do this. I first came in here thinking you know, that my Asperger's would be, you know, way more of a problem than it really was. I thought, you know, I wouldn't be able to get along with any of the girls, I would be too different, and since I've been here I've learned so much, I've learned to be more confident, I've learned to not always be so self-conscious and that not everyone is going to judge you just because you have... (Heather gestures) ...you were born a certain way. I think, the experience is much more than the prize

So it's official? She's been kicked off? Quite frankly, I think that's best. Because she's now had enough exposure that she can get these modelling jobs, but doesn't have to be locked into a contract like the winner, if this is like Idol.

It said on the website she is a student. Anyone know what of?

Yes, I agree that she took the best shots consistently. But unfortunately there's more to modeling than that; even if you just stay entirely within the photo realms, outside of runways and commercials, she'd still have to be interviewed by people; she still has to make it to places on time and be able to impress the people there.

She'll still make it far if she wishes to continue. All things aside, this show did better her chances in the outside modeling world; people have seen her, they know who she is, and how well she models. If anything, the show has helped her. She is a beautiful girl, she does take lovely shots, and she's not a pain to work with; she'll go far, especially now that people know that.

Generally speaking, no, her shots aren't that great. I don't know anything about the rules, but I suspect it's probably quite common for them to be bent. There's no guarantee about who's going to win. I've been hearing Chantal, but maybe it won't be here; realistically, it could be any of the girls.

She does have a boyfriend and it's going to be a phone interview.

That is a rather impertinent question.
