What are Euro games?

I'll tell you all about it on Friday! Try this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German-style_board_game

I'm just noting down peoples mobile numbers, I'm a little confused by the International dialling codes. Will we have to use them still if we are in the same vicinity?

I´m a little confused by this too, as I´m still sort of confused by European phones anyway. (I´m actually American). I´m nervous about being able to contact people. I´m also generally not a "phone person", I have a kind of a paranoia about talking to people on the phone who I haven´t met yet, so I will probably text. I hope I reach you guys! Well, you have my number too, so please contact me if I don´t reach you...

ManErg, I´ll be happy to explore the "local intoxicants" with you, as that´s right up my alley. :)

I love food too, though I´m a little bit "food challenged" these days, with my intolerances.

I guess I might be the only person who´s not into board games. I´m not a "game person" at all, sorry...and I´m totally ignorant about them, too.

I do really like Pink Floyd though, and funny enough, I´ve recently gone through a phase of listening to all my old Pink Floyd albums....speak of the devil....

ouinon: I assume if the hotel is closed, and we check in automatically, we can still go into our rooms and leave our luggage, etc.? I hope so. I also might be quite tired when I arrive. My flight from Germany leaves at 6:20. I have to get up around 4:00 am! Ugh....

Well....see you all soon! 8O :D

Logically, it seems you shouldn't have to dial the international code unless you're in a different country. However, when people phone me, I notice the 44 UK code is in their number, even though they're only a mile away. I guess we just have to try it and see.

Are you expecting to be in Avignon by late afternoon? I don't think we'll be straying too far from the hotel on thursday afternoon/evening as me, you and DarthMaxius will be arriving.

Ouinon, does Avignon have a 'late night culture'? I'm wondering because DarthMaxius won't be arriving till evening, so if we can get a meal late that would be good. I'm hoping that as it's a good climate, it's like Spain where you can go out after 10.

As long as you don't drink so much, you find yourself waking up in an alley :)

I'm a relapsed vegetarian, currently catching up on 20+ years of wildlife that I've saved simply through not eating it. My children have been teasing me that they want photographic evidence of me eating frogs legs...or snails. :eew:

BTW So far, I don't have a mobile number for EnglishLulu, who I believe will be arriving on Wednesday evening.

The phone thing; if you have arranged "international roaming" you should be able to call people in France at local rates, but if you haven't you may have to pay for a call from UK to France and use the international dialling code. But I am not sure of this.

:!: Darth is meeting us at 16.00 on Friday, same time as Seashell. Or have you arranged something with him for the day before? :?

Yes, if you have your reservation number and a credit card you can check in at the machine next to the entrance, ( from about 13.00/14.00 onwards ), and get your "key-code", so that you can take possession of your room.

Yep, I just realised you must have seen EnglishLulu's itinerary in which she listed his arrival there.

Re. phones, try calling without the international code first, to see if it works.

Bon voyage, everybody!! ! :D

Hi everyone !
I'm all in a hurry to make my luggage and to prepare myself for tomorrow's flight to Paris.
Finally, school is finished. I have 16,7/20 (French notation system on 20 points) of global average for the whole year.
Made my first dissertation, had 16/20. I thought I didn't answer properly to the subject :D
Next year will be 1ère S, with the anticipated exams of the French Baccalauréat.
So impatient to go to this meet. ^^
Looking forward to meeting you all.
DarthMaxeuis.

Have a nice trip all of you! :)

I'll send you a thought while I'm staying at home sweating over my thesis. :study: :coffee:

Look forward to hear about the meeting.

Me too.

EnglishLulu and KenG should already be there now! Hope they're having fun. :) The weather here, 100 km away, is gorgeous, ( bright blue sky ), if blowy because of the Mistral. Hope the Mistral blows itself out soon, but that the blue skies and bright sunshine continue. The weather forecast for this weekend keeps changing! :?

Congratulations DarthMaxeuis!

I do so hope we have nice weather- so far I´ve only packed warm clothes...(hmm, maybe I should add a few extra?)

Pray: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

See you guys soon!

Congrats DarthM, looks like you deserve a holiday!

I'm just about packed now. Now they're forecasting sun rather than drizzle for the weekend!! (it's raining, howling wind and cold here, so anything would be an improvement!)

On the mobile numbers, if the one I sent doesn't work, try replacing the international code digits with a 0. One or other should get thru.

Off to bed now. To sleep, perchance to wake up panicking in the middle of the night convinced I've forgotten something...but what?

See you all soon 8)

Best wishes with the flight, Seashell. Hope all goes well.

Darth, I hope your arrival in Marseille went ok, and looking forward to seeing you and Seashell in Avignon at 16.00 tomorrow afternoon.

Raggle-taggle-gypsy; I've just pm'd you again ( re. contact numbers, etc ); hope you manage it for at least a day, and that the hitching is good!

Till tomorrow everyone! :)
