... you go to the kitchen to get a glass of water and return 3 hours later without a glass of water wondering what went wrong.

... you leave your room only to realize you don't want to do anything outside of your room but wanted to search for something in your room.

Happened to me.

Being hired to research and compile an annotated bibliography in one of the more tedious branches of philosophy sends you into a blissful swoon ... you cannot believe your lucky stars!! (did that this past fall)

...you open a brand new box of teabags, and immediately notice a pattern involving how the teabags were placed in the box.

...you take a teabag from the end of the box and not from, say, the middle, so as not to disrupt said pattern.

...you forgot you had tea steeping because you got hopelessly sidetracked on WP.

You order a three very diverse TV series on DVD and when they come from Amazon and your mum asks why you bought them, you reply "They've got Simone Lahbib [my favourite actress from the TV show 'Bad Girls' that I have been obsessed with since I was 13] in them" and she answers, "Not that obsession again! I thought you'd grown out of that one."

You wonder how a group of perfect strangers managed to write a thread 230 pages long all about YOU.

(talking about obsessions...)

... you can't only buy a blue bandana but need to possess a collection with all the possible nuances of blue. (a rule that can be applied to all the other colors I like).

You get very excited when talking about a topic of interest that happens to be one of your obsessions and you start to get very hyper and talk really really fast and jump up and down and flap your hands and sometimes spin but also squeel! EEEeeeeeeeeeee!! !

.......when you are suprised the fish you caught was 20 mm smaller than the one you planned to catch.

......you think about a cars engine and see a huge working schematic of the electronics and fuel injection system in your mind.

......you can't look at or speak to people with dark wrap around sunnies on.

You know you're an Aspie if you;

- Memorize every official dog breed in the AKC registry
- Can remember what color shirt your best friend wore on your 7th birthday, but not that your mom told you to take out the trash five minutes ago
- Prefer the company of animals to other people
- Know the bus driver and the librarian better than you do your own classmates
- Not afraid to try things that nearly guarantee bodily injury, but maintain an irrational fear of things that are typically seen as safe (going up escalators for me)

You meet someone you really get on with, talk to them way too much about mutual interests and decide to tell them about AS halfway through the evening and they say they'd already worked it out!
