I saw you mention popping balloons earlier in the thread (I think it was this thread) - that's something else that I can't stand. I had a bigtime meltdown over that as a child that I wrote about in my blog (which is still new and doesn't have much in it yet). But yeah.. those sounds kick off the 'flight' part of "fight or flight" in me instantly. I almost want to start a thread to see how many other people feel like this, but don't have the brain power right now to deal with that, LOL.

If you almost scream when a big noisy truck or schoolbus drives by you [true story].

If you routinely have to ask your waitress if there's any way the lights can be turned up/down/ the music can be turned down/ the air conditioner can be turned down / if there's a seat not near the heat vent because it makes a deep thumping noise that's driving you insane / if you get your check after only having a soda because you already know your hearing is picking up chewing noises from adjoining table in ultra-high-definition today and you'll lose your mind before the appetizer is done/....

If the psychologist asks "When you're at a party and you see a bunch of people talking, do you think they're talking about you?" -- To which you reply, "Why would I be at a party?"

Ask why if a hurricane is named after a male it is not called a himicane. Yours truly has asked this question.

If you're driving a section of road with poor visibility and see a sign that says "Pass With Care" and your son asks "But what if I *don't* care?" and you think "that's a really good question". (happened to me)

If your mum's new friend is driving you back home from Karate class and asks if you would ever leave the dojo [school] and you say that we just did!

If you equate going to an office party the same as yanking out your toenails with pliers.

If you get a weird mental image of a tiger or whatever dancing whenever someone says 'party animal'.

That's what I love about WP; if someone is misunderstood everyone is so used to just letting them explain after questioning or refuting whatever they mis-said that it's kind of expected here to do so. And when someone is obviously having trouble getting an idea out...people help.

How about...you might be an Aspie if you were so disturbed by the Sunday School representions of the ark as a boat with a keel and all, and Joseph's coat as having "many colors" when the Bible just says it was richly ornamented.....that you decided to learn Hebrew because the English translations weren't accurate enough for your taste!
