Thanks for the link. That is a very interesting design but not something I can use on my project. I am trying to fit the box in a space about 5 or 6 inches deep, 11 inches tall and maybe a foot long, with the wheel well in the way of it being a perfect rectangle. It's a tiny car and I need to conserve cargo area. I also can't use a big amp since it only has a 55 amp alternator. What I am planning is to use one of those thin subs designed to go behind the seat in a pickup truck. I just need to find one that uses a minimal amount of air space and can run off of around 100-200 watts. Right now I am doing a proof of concept and have built a 1 cubic foot box and am using a normal 10 in sub I had lying around to see if it will be sufficient. If so, then I will go for the next level and build the new box and buy the new sub.

When the phone rings at work, I have two options

Don't answer, but will undoubtedly have a message left and will need to return the call
Or
Answer the phone and get put on the spot ( no script in my head)

Not sure which is worse.

Thanks! I love seeing space efficient solutions like that. It helps me to think outside the box more when I see how others have done things.

I had a really similar one recently- a woman at work had a meeting at the other school I work at and asked me how to get there using the name of the place (i.e. 'how do you get to Coventry?' instead of the actual school name such as 'Coventry Primary' for example). I replied 'go out of school, turn right, drive to the end of the road, turn left, keep driving for about 7 minutes...' at which point she interrupted me saying 'I know how to get to [eg Coventry], I drive through it every day on the way to school! I meant how to get to the school!'

Um, I don't get it. Why was this person looking at you?

A few days ago, my dad and I did the dishes and laundry and cleaned the kitchen after dinner, which are things that my mom usually does. I blurted out, completely without thinking, "Hey mom, dad and I did your chores for you!" She and dad were completely shocked that I said that (though thankfully not hurt or angry), even though I don't really understand why that was inappropriate. I thought that cleaning every night counted as a chore. (shrugs)

I don't get it either. You did her chores for her. So...what? Why were they shocked?

I went to an aspie meetup in Seattle. I met people all over the spectrum there. The event had me feeling very confident in my ability to function and pass for normal, until I got overloaded and had to hide in a corner and stim for a while. Hiding in a corner and jumping up and down to relieve stress is when I discovered that "functional" has many components, and I'm only good at some of them.

Today, I was talking to a coworker while we were waiting for our boss to arrive (he has the keys to the office). She asked me which music genres I like. While I was replying, the boss arrived and opened the door. Automatically, I got up before she could reply and I entered the office. It should be noted that she was taking too long to reply and I wanted to go to the bathroom.

we were discussing how the recent cuts to welfare groups would affect the queer community including the youthgroup that everybody knows i go to and how we'd like to have a speaker from there at our next rally, possibly one of the youth and if i go there it would be reasonable to expect that i would know youth who might be able to speak or might be able to talk to the workers which is why i was being stared at- i was expected to say something, maybe mention if i did know anybody who would be ok with talking(i don't). im just really dense.

I was at my grandparents' house, and my uncle was there, too....for some reason, my stepdad's side of the family always loves to make jokes, kid around, and pull people's legs....and I can't always tell when to take people seriously or not.

For example, I overheard my uncle tell my younger half - sister that he had a cousin who had been named after her. I foolishly asked, "Really? (since I really didn't believe that his cousin was younger than my sister)" And then my uncle turned to me and asked, "Were my lips moving?" I answered, "Yes." And then he sort of gave me the "Oh, You" look and then continued, "And what did I tell you about my lips moving?" Feeling like a little schoolgirl getting scolded for weeing on the carpet, (tho there wasn't really anything I could do about it then) I answered, "When your lips are moving, it means you're pulling my leg." "That's right!" he told me.

Why can't people just say things straight up, tho? Wasting peoples' time making stupid statements like he did is just ridiculous and confusing. :?
