something I have noticed with myself is whenever I get tranferred into my powerchair the first thing I go for is the harness and pull that very tight along with the seat belt. But one thing I notice is when I am agitated or otherwise not calm I hit the tilt switch, pull my harness tighter if my muscles allow and I always wind up either falling asleep with my hands on my neoprene upper belly (thank god for slightly overmeasured chest length measurements) or lay there for a half hour or more. either way it results in the agitation or whatever problem being gone!

For fabrics:
Corduroy
Velvet/velor (velor is more flexible but velvet feels better)
good quality soft cotton
neoprene
quality leather

notice i put quality down as a marker for clothing here, there is a major difference between good quality materials and cheap ones

for sensations:
sunshowers in florida
sunlight through a window when it is cold outside
the tight lacing on my boots
My corset laced up snug
my layers of blankets to sleep with
my cat asleep on my back, purring

Being covered in soft thick cotton blankets.

Having a soft feathered stuffed pillow or two near me so I can grab onto it, don't know why.

The sensation of warm water.

I like the feeling of:

* t-shirt sheets
* the wind through my fingers while I'm driving
* petting my furkids
* my faux leather comforter (which is super soft)
* A half paper towel rolled & knotted. I like to rub it & rotate it in my hand, helps me focus.

The sounds of:

* my cat purring me to sleep (right in my ear & feel her warm breath)
* wind through trees
* my dog snoring
* my trucks muffler sound when I pass a brick wall (lovely deep, "Wwwwaaaaaahhh")

Smell of:

* sweet violets, especially after the rain
* fresh mountain air
* chestnuts roasting

Hearing my favourite quote from Memento - " If I could just... reach over and touch her side of the bed... I would know that it was cold."

The feeling of the angular bones underneath as I ever so delicately run my hand along smooth skin of the jaw of a lover.

The view for miles across Cambridge from the top of a multi-story car park, tinted silvery-grey and blue by an icy day.

Catching the scent of a shampoo used by one of my loved ones and being reminded of them.

The incredible calm of not worrying about anything, that I never appreciate until I've lost it once more.

And in some strange way, the terrible feeling of letting out the worst in me, cutting loose and finding that darker kind of peace, caring about nothing instead of having nothing to worry about. It seems so horrible when I look back at it, but at the time... it just feels like bliss.

Ok well...for starters - as I said - I'd love to have a blood pressure cuff wrapped tightly around my head like a head band.

Throw in some lead aprons and I'm set for a snooze...

ooo, I love lead aprins. Like when you go to the dentist? I love them.

I like cold things, I like having things in my hands, pens, rubik's cubes, a ball, anything. I also like soft things. I'm very picky when it comes to clothes.

Ice cold water on a cold morning or after ice cream

My blanket, which I've had for all my life

I like:

the taste of half-frozen water.

the sound of rain hitting the roof.

the feeling of a job well done.

and a few others that escape me for some reason.

one of my big dreams is a giant blood pressure cuff that i can be mummy wrapped in, get a total body squeeze hehe..

i'd like to get a bariatric blood pressure cuff and wrap the thing around my head, mind you i would have a tube for breathing since it would go from the top of my head to the bottom of my chin probably... and i would have to try wrapping one around my neck just since i love pressure on my neck soooo much...

oh oh oh!! ! and i absolutely LOVE those lead aprons, especially the ones my hospital has, they have latex coated ones, and then they have neoprene ones... i like them both so much id like to steal em all!

Yes, it's what makes taking oral X-rays more bearable.

also GET A BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF!! !

my list of stuff i need to get

bariatric blood pressure cuffs 12 of those

lead aprons (latex coated) 6

lead aprons (neoprene coated) 6
