Well, I was not going to watch ANTM this week, but alas, I have gotten into the routine. I'm glad I did. Heather was the Cover Girl of the Week again! Also, the other girls found a letter she had written about how much she would miss them (how aspie is that, to leave a letter). So she was mentioned quite a few times. I don't think anyone else has "lived on" so to speak like that this season.
Bianca was told to leave this time. Too bad- she has more personality than the three remaining girls combined.

Yes, but from what I heard (and this may not be real), just because you have more personality doesn't necessarily mean a good thing, especially when you think of an acidic personality.

You're right, Quatermass. Bianca is a b**ch, but I grew to respect her in a way.
I'm probably just a sucker for a "ghetto girl success story."

Heather's Covergirl of the Week after she's gone. Heh. She's going to be the typical girl who gets a real modeling job after NOT winning.

I'm amused by the fact they eliminated Heather because of having "communication problems". ---> It is just like when they accept plus-sized models just to get rid of them because they're too fat or insecure about their bodies or whatever. In the real world, a model would not be left in the middle of Shangai just with a map, hoping she would make it in time for the photoshoots. In the real world, a spokesperson would have cue cards and time to herearse her phrases. But then again, they're not really looking for a model model, they're looking for a... well, I don't really know.

I think modeling can be achievable or not, depending on your focus on it.

well, I am just gratified that that young woman, Bianca, didn't have what it took, either.
Now she has to understand that it doesn't make much difference between someone that zones out and someone that thinks they have it in the bag.

And oh btw , I find nothing achievable in a profession that requires to show ass and boobs. Such profession should not brings any pride to the aspie community.

That's allright, LePetitPrince,
no one wants to look at your ass or boobs , anyway.

LePetitPrince, that's how media works. More often than not, they're looking to scoop up and exploit information that they think people will pay to watch/read. ANTM and the Tyra Show, especially, make it a point to exploit people for their differences. Tyra is going to get so, so many brownie points for having Heather on the show, as well as her T-Zone pet project. That doesn't take away the fact that Heather is an awesome model.

And I think I can respect what hard work modeling is. Look at Ambreal. As much as she tried, she really sucked at facial expressions and posing. It does take practice. I really felt bad for the girl.

Anyways, here's a NYTimes article on Heather:
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/04/health/04well.html
Even more Aspergers focus.

Wish somebody would ask her something new. I've read/listened to a handful and there's really nothing new to any of them.

I bet that no one wants to look at yours either, since models' asses are stealing all attention from the inferior-looking girls ;)

Hey now. This thread is about ANTM and Heather. Behave and stay on topic or I'll send you to bed without any dinner.

I was impressed tonight by how gracious Bianca was when she was voted off. It looked like neither of the final two had been expecting that outcome.

Well, I don't want to be so unfair but the media is exploiting her condition and she's saying nothing in public as an attempt to stop that.I know that media will win eventually but at least she should tries but she didn't so far . To be more fair, let's give her more time and see if this exploiting will continue and so her silence about this.

And oh btw, modelling is the most shallow/stupid/disgraceful_for_womankind profession , but that's just my personal opinion.

What's new though? Doesn't the media exploit anything within reach?

I think your opinion is just as valid as anybody else's. I was surprised to see you say it though.

Modeling is just like anything else - it can be done with pure or unpure motivation.

Is something advertised to show the product, or to manipulate you into wanting it in order to achieve something likely impossible? There's the problem.

Men and women alike are exploited by the greedy corporate whoremongers.

why do you think that only a girl wants admiration for physical attributes? Surely all the male physique models/sports players/rock stars, etc. show their bodies for the admiration they too receive? Or do you think only women are so shallow? Is that it, LePetitPrince?

and as for your assessment as to what and whom have admired MY attributes your evaluation is woefully misinformed! I could tell you stories. . oh! I HAVE told stories, and right here on WP, too!
you must have missed them, or you could have despairingly/disparagingly commented on them long before this post.

Merle, thanks for making me laugh!
BTW did you mean "despairingly" or "disparagingly" above? Either way...
Maybe we should have our own show, "America's Next Top Aspie Model," so that we can show off our beauty and our brains.

I've always wanted to be a respected actor. I was told by big shot casting agent that I have talent that sets me apart. Never thought about modeling, however, but I guess acting's similar to modeling with the addition of the spoken word / moving images.
