I used to get named after objects I focussed my gaze on.

I didn't realise that my focussing was so noticeable until other people commented on it.

Hence "AmberEyes".

I often "stared" at sweets and food items.
I couldn't help myself: this fixed gaze seemed automatic.
I can't switch it off.
One person felt so sorry for me that he offered me the entire tube of sweets he was eating 8O.

This happened on school trips too.
Pretzels and confectionary would get flung my way if I looked at them for long enough and I would be re-christened after each food item 8O.

Not a bad quirk to have actually.

I got nicknamed Freakie because of my special interests and the dedication behind them. I also got nicknamed Mickey (like the mouse) because people can't pronounce my real name (it has an /I/ in it, not a /6/ in X-SAMPA).

I've got alot of names since primary school, like professor, guru, robot, master, legend, sensei, beast, monster, woman/girl (I'm male) etc etc. Well friends had got nothing better to do than calling names to other people, lol.

Hmmm.. In high school, there was this one guy i didn't even really know who always called me "mute girl," because i didn't talk much. I thought it was kind of funny at the time, but my mom tells me it was probably an insult. lol.
When i was in Taekwondo classes as a kid, all of the instructors called me "smiley" because i almost never smiled.
In middle school, i was often "pokemon kid" or "that girl who's too obsessed with pokemon".
Other than those things, i was referred to as "that quiet girl" a lot through the years. This was all before i'd ever even heard of AS, though.

Yes!

Some people (I won't say where...) call me an "Aspie."

A few more I neglected to mention:

From adults: "Professor" (And I did become one for a year!)

From other children: "The Human Computer", "The Walking Encyclopedia"

A childish adult called me something like the last two once.

This might not exactly count as a nickname, but you know how in Halo 2 and Halo 3 you can create custom multiplayer game settings? Well, my cousins and I were playing, and they decided to create a custom game format just for me, titled "specialnaught." It was pretty much a variation of Juggernaut, except that the Juggernaut player got triple shields instead of double, and started off with an Energy Sword and one of those Covenant grenade launchers. In other words, the "specialnaught" was damn near invincible.

However, I don't know if they came up with the name because of my AS, or because I sucked so bad at Halo...

Also, these younger kids that I used to hang out with always called me "Galactica" (as in Battlestar Galactica), but since they were small fry I just rolled with it. Now, if a person my age said that, I'd kick their ass halfway across the state.

Now people sometimes call me Dr. Duke, and occasionally Dr. Destructo, because I break things better than anyone. In a good way. Really. <grin>

When I was younger, it was Wookie and Bigfoot, because I was tall, unkempt, and like to imitate animals.

I just 'came out' as an aspie to my rugby team, and told them I hope some day to earn a rugby name based on my mental aberration. Maybe I should explain that rugby names are given to players as signs of affection, and usually commemorate particularly humiliating moments. It's all good fun.

I can remember being called "JoHnny", "Bøsse", "Bøg", "Homse" all the time during secondary school, in my area Johnny" is a slang and alternative word for "Gay", as are the others, I was also being called "The drooler", because they thought I drooled when I actually was drinking from the schools fountain.

I got the nickname Jukebox once because at a party I knew every single song that was played over the entire night.

I was 'Actually' at the age of about seven or eight. It was a word I used with some frequency.

I'd lost my phone at a mates house and went to use his phone to call mine to hear where it was. I couldn't find my name in his phonebook so asked what it was under and he said 'Nutter' with an embarrassed grin so I guess that was mine.

I can't think of any AS-related names, except for the ones I invented myself for online purposes (variations to ChangelingGirl).

I have, at high school my thumb was almost allways in my mouth, even when talking to people!
one time in class i tryed to say "angry" but wile sucking my thumb it came out as "angy" from that moment on people started calling me ang or sometimes angus.
In my last job i had a tendancy to talk over people with useless trivia, witch earned me the nickname bob, after spongebob squarepants, because they said i was like a sponge of information soaking in some very wierd information.
Has anyone else earned a nickname like this?

I was dubbed "brain", "scientist" by my dull witted age peers. This was back in the late 1940s before the words "geek" and "nerd" were coined. I was considerably more intelligent than just about everyone I knew who was my age.

"Blivy" for being oblivious to what is going around me, "Deafie" for the same reason, also "Gully Gully Girl" and "Miss Gull" for being super gullible. These are all names bestowed on me by my brother.
