I'm very glad to say that I don't know who Tupac is.

I didn't physically laugh...but i have made a lot of jokes...Really just the same couple of jokes over and over because I am a repetetive person...and the jokes were not about his death persay, so much as the media frenzy...the way they had to rephrase the way that he died in as many different wordings as possible...Paramedics failed to revive him(because he was dead)....Paramedics were unable to start his pulse(ahem...because he was DEAD)....etc...over and over again. ..So I have kept coming up with different far-fetched ways to reword it...

I was somewhat "impressed" by how quickly the media managed to produce so many stories/documentaries/etc...so quickly after he died...almost as if they had them all ready and qued up and were just waiting...
I also sorta speculated not too long ago that I did not think that Michael Jackson was gonna be the type to live to a ripe old age..hyperbaric chamber or not..Considering all the controversy that surrounds him..it was probably more graceful for him to go kinda young...
Um...I do not really feel like he is dead...I am not glad that he is dead, but I don't really have an ounce of mourning...I have always have atypical reactions to death...even of people I actually know...Part of me for some reason, doesn't really even believe in death...

I have also joked that leave it to Michael Jackson to upstage Farah Faucett like that...it seems odd how their deaths took place on the same day...I only found out about Ed McMahn shortly after finding out about farah..and then moments after finding out out about him...I went into the dreaded cursed bank and up on the tv there was a media frenzy happening where they were making a big deal about Michael Jackson having just been taken to the Hospital..and the area around his house looked like they were getting ready for a riot..at that point, I woulda been surprised to later find out he was still alive...and it crossed my mind that if he were alive, he musta had some sorta accident where some major prosthetic part of his face fell off or something..and even then..I didn't speculate they would be making that big of a deal about it.

Sorry to sound insensitive...I tend not to judge the guy on the basis of things I have no concrete evidence of. By NO means do i have a soft spot for pedophiles...bad stuff like that happened to me when I was little and I don't wish death upon those perpetrators

anyway...blah blah blah...Large scale media frenzies are an intrinsic part of our culture...what will it be next?

My reaction was, "Does this mean we're not allowed to make jokes about him being a pedophile anymore?!" And then, "How many days until people are claiming to have seen him in various world cities after his death?"

Thank you. I know it sounds crazy, but I couldn't help but to think it. I was just watching Roseanne too like right before I came on here, and one of the scenes, Jackie was pregnant wanting to tell her mom in a way that would kill her mom, and Roseanne reminded her of kharma and reincarnation and how now was not a good time for someone like Jackie to want her mom to die. I haven't told anyone on here yet, but I just found out I was pregnant, so the thought did just creep in my head.

No, not a crazy question if you believe in reincarnation....I think of when a young relative of mine announced her pregnancy shortly after my mother died, and my brother momentarily speculated on the possibility, and it freaked me a little. Not because I believe it could happen (given my mother's issues around me, I doubt the universe would let her anywhere near me for a very long time to come), but because it's immensely damaging to have those kind of expectations of a child. Making them out to be a deceased relative (or anyone else) is expecting them to live as someone else rather than their own person. I personally think that surely most people who die would need recuperation time - for some, a long time - before giving it another go, if indeed they ever do. So even if reincarnation happens, you can't pinpoint who gets reborn as who, and perhaps that's just as well.

No, I don't laugh at all, especially if it's sudden. I have cried while watching Princess Diana's funeral, and when Mister Rogers died, since he was a part of my childhood.

Do you want a serious answer? There is no such thing as a reincarnation or a soul. We are all biological entities. Our sense of 'self' is merely chemical and electrical processes inside our nervous system. When we die those processes cease and we are gone.

It's probably too late for that to be prevented.

Let's see if this'll get a grin. I made this up myself and debuted it on another forum. Personally, I think that Mattel will be at the autopsy, looking to get some spare parts out of him. *Ba-dum tish!*

No, I don't.

When a celebrity dies, especially one that I grew up watching on tv/hearing on the radio etc., I usually get a weird 'wave' of nerves feeling, and then I can't help but think how I'll never see them on tv or hear them on the radio again and they'll never age from that point on. It ends up feeling like a little bit of my youth's been erased in a way. Very surreal.
I get like this when people, who I vaguely know, die as well (e.g. earlier this year: a forum member from another board:\)

I think being an agnostic means one does not presume to know the truth, either spiritual or scientific.
In that way I am agnostic on the subject.

Like I say, I don't know if it's true what he did or not. But I'm not going to let the media decide for me

But he was acquited meaning in law he is technically still under contempt of that crime because the evidence on both sides met a stalemate plus the fact his lawyers pretty much gave up on him that to me sounds pretty iffy especially if your own defence are like "oh crap"

The thing that bugs me about the die hard fans is that he was only acquited meaning the evidence is still open for debate in any trial acquited is kinda like just signing your life away becaue jackson lost pretty much every ounce of support.

I personally think he was a pedaphile but not because he was sadistic but because of the psychological transition he went through, its scary that he was 500 million in debt to lawyers though

I can assure you that if someone molested one of my children, no amount of money would make it okay and the person who molested them would probably end up dead. I think most fathers would have a similar reaction, the only people who would accept money are those who are running a scam.

Reincarnation I guess is just one of those things that really doesn't matter at this point. Not like I have any control over these things if I did know all the answers I guess.

My family had a similar story to yours when my sister got pregnant 1-2 months after my father's death. I always kinda wondered, especially since my nephew reminds me a lot of my father. The bad thing and good thing is that my mom clinged to my nephew, something related to losing my dad. 9 years later, he's her favorite grandchild and she totally spoils him.

While a bunch of morons on youtube may disagree, I agree. There's just so much serious complicated stuff associated to death amongst those that survive to take it lightly. In addition, I think we should respect the dead. Kinda like military rank...you don't have to respect the person to respect their rank. There's a reason why laws prohibit libeling a dead person and many Catholics say a prayer when passing an area of the dead (i.e. cemetaries).

The amount and type of evidence required to prove something true is also required to prove it false.
