i usually read alot, like a few books a week. But lately i've been rather distracted and haven't really been able to enjoy my books.

Yearly, i prolly average anywhere from 100-200 novels though

Probably about 30-40 a year, mostly fiction. This past year is unusually high (about 3X normal) cause I've been unemployed. Plus, when I found out about the Asperger's, I had to read up on that. I even checked out a whole bunch of books meant for NTs on subjects like body language, flirting, mingling, empathy, conflict management, etc. In general, if I'm riding public transit, on a plane, or anything like that I've got a book to read. I remember one time I planned to meet an aspie friend at a subway entrance. I got there early and started to read standing there. I find out she arrived and didn't see me so she was reading too until we noticed each other who knows how much later

I read really few books nowadays. I used to read a lot, probably 30 books of my choice per year + another 30 or so school books per year that I had to read for my studies. I had undiagnosed dyslexia throughout school and reading always took me a long time and a lot of effort, but I was stubborn and read a lot despite all the time and effort it consumed. After I graduated from college I had just had enough of it and was exhausted and drained from all that reading, so I pretty much stopped reading books. Nowadays I read a lot of articles on the internet, or look things up in books and read selected chapters, but I rarely read whole books anymore, maybe just 3-5 non-fiction books per year or so. I've been thinking of increasing it, because there are some books that I've been wanting to read, but I just can't seem to bring myself to get started on it. I don't know from where I'm going to take the time and the energy for it. :|

Asm, I've been using similar web-to-page metrics since the 90's, so I can verify your numbers look good. I was able to keep up that rate in my 20's, but my damn eyes hurt me too much now to keep up.

I'm wondering what your opinions are on a conversion rate from audio rec/podcast to plain text would be? (Since I'm driving/jogging for ~2 hours a day, I think my numbers should look better than what I've been estimating lately.) I'm thinking of using a rate of 20 pages per audio hour, but that might be a bit high. What do you think?

It depends really, this year I've spend more time reading books than I did for previous years, so I would of imagined I've about 20 or more this year, but it was mainly computer and graphics stuff.

My parents dislike books so I mostly read when I have to buy a book for my studies (8 this year). I enjoy fiction and non fiction yet I prefer fiction when the writing is about writing itself or about philosophy.

I'm planning on reading more when I move but I do spend a lot of time on my computer so when I read I tend to read ebooks. Computer addicted... it's hard to take a book and read when you can go on the Internet and search for informations on a subject for hours without realizing it's already midnight  .

30-40 deppending on how much work I have to do during the year, the price of the books I have bought through the year(apparently my family has decided I am the only one who sould buy books and they just ask me for them when I´m finished. This has come to the point my mother refuses to buy me english books as a present since she is unable to read them(she only reads spanish)).

I have a hard time focusing reading stuff, even today as an adult. I have to force myself to read through, and when i do i have to reread a section of text up to 3 times before i stop dreaming away from the book (One of the reasons why i'm also getting checked for ADHD).

But anyway, maby 5-6 books a year - tops, mostly fact books related to my special interests.
