I look up to various actors and internet personalities every now and then, I hope that I could become a role model in the community of people who lack social skills one day :U

Or that someone beats me to it but I think that we all are building up the confidence to set the first step.

ilikealison and Nathan Zed said that they're pretty shy and I am a huge fan of their work, I find it hard to imagine that they might be shy people.in real life :)

I think a lack of role models, personally, comes from a lack of community, because so many autistic people are socially awkward.
I also find the role models we do have are not particularly typically glamorous or flamboyant. So there ought to be more of those.

I mean the role models the general autism community has. There need to be autism role models in general who are bold and assertive.

1991 public schools begin identifying autism
1994 Asperger's becomes an official diagnosis

The kids diagnosed in the mid 1990s should now be in their mid 20s.

This is quite young for the activities that Aspies usually excel. We may have to
wait another 20 years before their achievements are really recognized.

A role model, for me, is someone who has accomplished something, sometimes against great odds. Denis Istomin is that sort of person for me. He overcame great odds to succeed on the ATP tennis tour. He is intelligent, poised and has a great sense of humor. These are all traits I want to have.

People who help me in any substantial way become cobblestones who I seek to move toward emulating in spirit and expression along my ever expanding path in life, I don't really consider anyone a role model but I do admire and seek to replicate shades of certain folks creative juices and boldness and kindness in their way of impacting and affecting through example and intent.
