I have it and I'm black. It's definitely not diagnosed as much among blacks but there is no doubt in my mind that it exists at the same levels among our "race". Which by the way makes absolutely no sense genetically speaking but let's go with it. The problem is this, any difference observed among blacks is almost always seen as having a genetic reason. Why? Because people don't believe that black people are equally human. It's f****d up but it's just the way it is. So people misdiagnose us or don't diagnose us at all. My father, uncles, and grandmother all have the condition and have never been diagnosed. What's funny is that the condition didn't really manifest itself until I started pursuing education more vigorously. Then my teachers started to notice I was a little "different." But still too many stereotypes floating around in the minds of whites for them to think Aspergers! I seriously think that some white people think blacks are some kind of ancient race of people, or a link b/w apes and humans even though there is nothing, genetically speaking, that even suggest this. Nothing! But doesn't matter, blacks are all one group of people, one monolithic group haha. I guess we're seen as animals or something and even those minor stereotypes affect your diagnosing ability. Plus, white people assume they have x-ray vision when it comes to us. So they don't listen, even the liberal ones are like this. I used to get angry about the s**t but now I just sit back and enjoy the show while white people tell me about how black people think and feel lol...funny stuff!
