PR students then.

I just need a reasonably busy site to meet/chat with other aspies alex, I don't need all the stuff you're doing/envisioning. I think you have to distinguish between what is personally useful to yourself (ie looks good in your CV) and what members want.

I only have 28k dial-up (I live in a country town) and can't use sites that are too slowed down by graphics/ads.

I think that what Alex is trying to do is good for the site and other people. Afterall, wasn't this Alex's goal, to have a cool place for any aspie to talk with other aspies and be able to be accepted into at least one group? I think that to make the site better is always good, and with that you need money. And to hire people with this type of expertise takes money, because their time eventually equals money, as well as a little bandwith (eventhough it's not a huge percentage of the cost). To tell the truth, I think the reason why people keep coming back and more members keep being added to WrongPlanet is because of the quality of the site, and that this site (unlike many other Asperger's websites) has almost all their posts answered, has way more people to talk to, and it's a really cool environment. I think that if you spend this much time to make this site and keep it going, not to mention spending money coming from your own pocket, that it should deserve to look nice and be better. So, my compliments to those who take the time to create someplace where I could talk to other aspies. It's cool coming here afterschool everyday for a few minutes and know that there are other aspies to talk to, instead of the "I'm the only one" mentality. I think it's awesome that we could become members for free, and get all this really cool stuff, instead of having to pay some sort of membership fee to become a member of WrongPlanet.

I agree. I hope Alex gives that serious consideration.

I was told where the money was going when I donated.

That is good to know. I yet to decide if it would be truly worth donating to this site or not in the end. For this site seems sometimes a little out of control for its own good. There has been many changes to this site and not all for the good I think. That said I am still thinking of contributing to the Wrong Planet though We well see.

I wonder if any of the things I have pointed here or there will get fixed, not just the Membership Lists, and when will they get fixed in the end most likely never huh.

I have decided not as yet to give a donation to the Wrong Planet for the amount of 1000 or even 500 dollars at this time. I am going to wait at this time to see what changes do take place here at the Wrong Planet. Because some of My questions have not been answered.

I think that it would be a very good idea for a site that asks for donations and relies on volunteers' work to make its finances publicly available (perhaps in a form of quarterly reports). The way I see it, people come to WrongPlanet because it is a great community, and we all helped build it. Of course, website's smooth running and features are important, but I don't think these are major factors why WP is so popular.

I agree, especially if he is considering becoming a charitable organization.

I'm having a hard time reconciling the concept of having ads that show cleavage, with this being a charitable organization. There is incongruity there that just doesn't jibe for me.

And while I'm on the topic, surely I'm not the only person here who sometimes cannot browse this site because of the flashing ads?

I find the site incredibly slow loading. I only have 28k dial up. It's becoming a serious problem for me, the slowness. I'm not sure it's worth bothering to come here anymore.

If you are still seeing the cleavage ads, please PM me. Those were to be blocked.

I agree the moving ads are a pain.

Those were blocked. I don't know why you'd be seeing them still.

That would be nice I think. If that would happen then maybe I would then donate to this site We will see.

kevv I think your mouth is bigger then your pocket. All you have done is complain, Alex has told you what he has done and wants to do to make this a haven for Aspies.
many people have said they would miss you if you left, you say your down and depressed.
But don't take it out on Alex or his site. This is a great site, friendly and informative.
this is the first time I have been rude to anyone here, you have been impatient and demanding. If you really want this site better then put your money where your mouth is. That should lift your depression, knowing your helping others.
I hope this doesn't get deleted. I hate people running this site down. This whole site explains to me my whole immediate family.
