From the age of 5 on up I always had one or two neighborhood friends that I did things with. The older I've become the harder it's been for me to form/maintain friendships. I don't know what it is other than the fact that I've become more introverted and depressed.

I had a best friend when I was 2 or 3 but then we moved. I also had a girl who I would listen to complain a lot when I was 8 or 9 but in hindsight I dont think she was really a friend. -MaS

it seemed that a lot of the kids I hung out with--as they got older, they distanced from me considerably.

I remember this one kid I used to hang out with in this summer day care place, and we'd hang out almost every year when we attended. One year..I don' know...he just changed, and didn't seem to be too interested in hangin' with me anymore.

Oh well, sh*t happens.....

I can recall this one kid whom used to hang out with me when I was 11yrs of age but, I'd rather think he did this to make his mom happy for, I felt that there was no true friendship there whatsoever though, over the many years there has been actual friendships I've had with various persons though, it's never lasted a great deal of time probably cause, I wrecked it all.. :(

when i was a young child i only wanted to be friends with two people . an aunt who was an adopted aunt and only three years older than me and a girl in my class.. i remember thinking 'how do i know other people are real' and those were the only two people that i felt were real. the best way i can e.iscribe it is that they were in sharp focus and everyone else was sort of blurred well... i guess i wasn't really looking at them.

I had no friends in pre-school. Had no intention of participating in it at all and would refuse at all costs to go. I did eventually warm to doing some activities but still resisted in making friends.

Kindergarten I made two friends, who we shall call A and B. We remained friends until our family moved to Edmonton.

First grade in Edmonton, I had one friend, called C. We only were friends for a couple months and fell out in during the summer.

Grade two and three - no friends save for one grade four-er, called D. WE hung out and offered some protection from bullying. I made friends with younger brother in the fourth grade, called E. We remained friends until I was in grade 6.

In grade 4, we went to a small church and made friends with the pastor's daughter. She'll be called F. We remained friends until grade 6 when we left that church. F did not go to the same school as I did so I never got the benefit of playing with her during school time.

In grade 5, I got introduced to a friend of E and we became friends, especially over the summers. He'll be called G. G did not go to the same school as I did so we only really played on the weekends and during the summer.

At grade 6, I started losing all my friends I made and I started to withdraw, unable to make connections. My younger brother was in kindergarten when I was in grade 5 and made a friend with someone in grade 2. I became friends with him,
he'll be called H. We kept being friends until we moved to the other side of the city.

No not one, if you don't count my brother. It's a pity the two of us have drifted apart these days, but as kids we were almost inseparable.

i remember there was a time when i hung out with the "girl group" during recess. Unbelievable how that happened. I have very few friends who are female now.
