I don't like the colour yellow. It's wrong to suppose that all ASD sufferers don't. Yellow is disliked by people with sensory issues, particularly with light. Not everyone has this. You are never going to find two people with ASD that are alike. There are lots of variants and nuances.

I like yellow too. Spotting someone in yellow trousers is a good omen in my book. Revolting dress sense but it says something about the local culture. I hope I see some today, then all is good with the world :)

Well this thread is old and I've matured (and liberated from other people's opinions) since then. Yellow is one of my favorite colors now, along with orange, green, red...etc. :D My whole family dress in bright fun colors since I'm the one buying clothes, and I like everything now. I have almost no black, gray or beige clothes, even though they're neutrals. Just too boring.

Yellow may be one of the least common favorite colors among people in general, in western countries. I don’t think it’s particularly linked to autism and I suffer of sensitivity too.

Yellow is my favorite color.
Purple is my second favorite color.
Blue is my least favorite.

Yellow is also the color of my comfort food : nuggets (I now eat vegan nuggets), french fries, bread, cheese and salted biscuits.
I like the taste of lemon too.

I like bright and "warm" colors and I also like grey and black (no matter if it’s boring or not).
I dislike "cool" colors.

I've heard it's one of the least-liked colours for autistic people. It's something about the light waves or our sensory system getting overstimulated, or something. I wish I could remember where I saw it. I like very light yellow in nature but I'd never buy or wear anything yellow. It's offensive to me somehow, like bright orange.

I used to wear all black, but I like garish colours too, and olive drab. :nerdy:

Yesterday, my friend was wearing yellow trousers. They weren't too ethnic looking, or too banana coloured; they were a chino cut, and the colour had faded, you might say, they were as right as yellow trousers could be. Worn with a grey shirt, they didn't look at all clownish or pretentious but rather demure. Combined with the fact that it's good for your environment as well as your own personal karma, I think one can make a very good argument for branching out in that direction during infancy  or after a certain age. :nerdy:

This makes me kind of love you.

My Uni flatmate Katy had the most delicious buttercup yellow shaker knit jumper.

I wanted it so badly.

Yellow is the color of the sun and the sun is very very hot especially now that it is summer in the northern hemisphere.

The color yellow also reminds me of the color of scrambled eggs and I was never crazy about scrambled eggs.

Red is the color of blood but can also be the color of hot things which give off infrared light. Infrared light is red.

Personally I always liked cold colors just like I prefer cold weather like in Switzerland, Canada, Iceland and Sweden.

My dream has always been to live somewhere where the weather is cold and there's lots of trees and open spaces like in British Columbia in Canada for example or even in Sweden or Norway.

Green and Blue are my favorite colors actually but I also like the color white which is the color which remains me of snow.

Since yellow is the most visible color, it’s also the most attention-getting color and it can be used in a small amount to draw notice, such as on traffic signs or advertisements.
Yellow is also the most fatiguing to the eye due to the high amount of light that is reflected. Using yellow as a background on paper or computer monitors can lead to eyestrain or vision loss in extreme cases.
Yellow can also increase metabolism.
Yellow can also create feelings of frustration and anger. People are more likely to lose their tempers in yellow rooms and babies tend to cry more in yellow rooms.

So I'm not surprised to learn that autistic people like this color less.
This color is generally disliked, and often not for nothing.

I confess that yellow can make me feel bad (a yellow room, for example), but I think it's the prettiest color anyway.

I also like green and brown colors.
But not blue. .
