Oh man! I thought it was because my parents "did the deed" BEFORE they married! Well, now it all makes sense!

Mail order. When I tried to return it, the company had moved.

Maybe we are an evoultional change. Man evolved to protect itself from environmental conditions and wild beasts. Now look at mankind we do not have to worry about the environment as much since we learned to adapt to it with technology. We killed off or ate most of the wild animals and we have now bred to outrageous numbers. Maybe we are mother nature's answer to over population.

Smurfs, man. They crawled into my mom's vajayjay while I was chilling in uter-OH! (it was a club I started) and spiked my drink with something totally wack. When I popped out they were there, looking and laughing at me, shouting "Dude, you're totally smurfed now!".

Blue bastards.

I bought it at the autism store.

Being serious: there are so many autistic traits in my family that I'd be very, very surprised if it weren't genetic.

Or you could look at yourself as given a gift from the gods that came with a lot trials and ordeals to over come to really enjoy it.

I was born with it. For the record, it was a very difficult birth and some shady things happened that no-one is sure of. 8O

I could have lots of causes. My mom had a very difficult pregnancy with me. She had morning sickness everyday & she was hospitalized twice for dehydration. She was also put on some med for nausea that got taken off the market latter because of suspension of nonspecific birth defects; there was some court cases & the med was thought not to be related but company pulled it. My mom also had lots of problems delivering me & she was in labor for about three days; nowadays they would of done a C-section. I was also supposed to have been born a month latter but I was full sized so it's possible that the docs wer wrong about the date. They had also said that I was going to be a girl but I'm a guy(thou I don't exactly conform society's stereotype of sexuality & masculinity). When I was a toddler my mom asked our general practitioner if I could be autistic & he just lathed & said "Nick's just being Nick". I've been diagnosed has having dyslexia & ADHD sense I started school & when I was in the process of getting that diagnosed; my dad talked to the docs cuz he had a lot of learning problems & they said he probably has dyslexia & ADHD as well. My dad's also kind of picky/obsessive compulsive about things, talks to himself a lot & shows little emotion at times but can get excited at other times. I also have a rare genetic vision disorder that I was born with but it was not diagnosed till my senior year of high-school thou people could tell I had problems. When I tried to get AS officially diagnosed at 20; the docs ruled out AS party because of my scores on the visual part of the testing did NOT fit the typical AS pattern. They felt that some of my issues wer because I have major learning problems & because I had a really bad childhood party related to that & having major vision problems that wer not properly recolonized. I was given the diagnoses of Schizoid Personality Disorder instead along with lots of other contradictory diagnoses.

So to sum it up; it could be cuz of problems with pregnancy, problems with labor/diver y, having a vision disorder, having learning problems, having a bad childhood or having a genetic link even

. . . How would ear infections result in Autism, exactly? I did have them often as a child, but they're ear infections, not brain infections. I don't understand this idea.

I assume I was born with it . . . that would make the most sense to me.

I have heard of cases where young kids are suspected of being autistic when they have undiagnosed hearing problems. Could that somehow be related :?:

Coincidentally, I have had a Long History of ear issues, but it has been diagnosed as trauma to the outer canal (scar tissue adjacent to the eardrum).
I get infections real easy if I don't use precautions after swimming.
Been that way since around 6 years old or so.
(simple home remedy prevents the issue however)
