Did you ever watch the Noozles? It was on about the same time.

YES!

Also: Maya the Bee, The Adventures of the Little Koala and The Little Prince--is that animation style called "old-school anime?" I just remember thinking that they all looked really similar.

Maya the Bee sounds familiar, but I don't know that I saw the others.

Noozles, Adventures of the Little Koala, Maya the Bee, and David the Gnome were the first cartoons I ever watched. :D

Watching the theme, I think I actually did see "Adventures of the Little Koala," but not "The Little Prince."

The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes series was from the '90s...and I don't believe it lasted very long.

Oh, I'm not saying the special effects in a New Hope weren't great for their time...but in my mind ya need more than just pretty special effects to make a good movie.

If ya need proof of that, watch Avatar; in my mind, that was just three hours of pretty CGI with lame propaganda. Bored me half to death.

A New Hope had a just barely adequate plot, and if you want proof of that just remember this:

Sir Alec Guinness hated it, and reportedly told a fan to never watch it ever again. Also, James Earl Jones wanted to go uncredited for his voice work as Lord Vader, and Harrison Ford got the role of Han Solo because he was installing cabinets in Lucas's house, and no self-respecting actor in Hollywood would touch the role with a ten-foot pole, including Al Pacino & I believe either Burt Reynolds or Tom Selleck...

Empire Strikes Back ...the directing was just phenomenal and everything in my mind pretty much worked perfectly, though I still think Luke is a massive b***h, and Han Solo honestly does nothing for me at all.

Return of the Jedi..people just accepted it as the final edition even though most said it was a massive letdown.

I find that I like cartoons from the early 80's as well as tv shows that most people would see as being weird here are some examples to provide a better point...

When I watch Star Wars, I laugh at the majority of the world for considering it an actually well made franchise..especially considering I thought the only really good one was Empire Strikes Back. In my opinion, it reeks of people just accepting mediocrity generally, and then rationalizing to all hell to convince themselves that what they watched was a massive work of art when it was little more than a massive something else.

It was a reference to dr. House  Regardless of what you might think of starwars, it's a nice conversation starter/killer and should be in the 'aspie curriculum'.

"Are You Afraid of the Dark?" wasn't weird! Everyone I knew watched it. My favorite episode was the "Phone Police" one.
