LOL. Oh. OK. So we're just 'arguing' back and forth because that's what we do. I hate it when that happens.

That's cool. I'm glad we were actually in agreement :)

What makes you think a DSM diagnoses could apply to everyone in the world at one time or another. Fact of the matter is no, not everyone suffers from a mental disorder or mental illness. Trying to say the DSM is a fraud on account of 'well everyone deals with these symptoms so it's no big deal and the person suffering with it should not have access to any help for it.' seems like a step backwards to me.

Also though the DSM is a book written by people, humans certainly aren't perfect so of course the DSM is going to have some issues, that is one of the reasons they edit it as well........to try and update it so it's more relevant and provides accurate guidelines of how various mental disorders look. No respectable psychiatrist or psychologist is going to just pick something out of the DSM apply it to someone and call it good.......they'll use the DSM and any other tools/resources they have to really try and find out what the symptoms mean and how to help the individual.

We know less about our own brains & minds than just about anything else in the Universe. A paradox that continues to amaze me! LOL

Sincerely,
Matthew
