The term NT (neurotypical) was originally coined by the autistic community to refer to people who are not on the autism spectrum in order avoid using the word "normal". It was originally coined by Jim Sinclair of Autism Network International (ANI):

Oh I guess not then. (for what I said in my PP).

Yes, the autistisnobs (i.e. the aspies and HFA's who think they're better than NT's) like NT bashing. However, the term NT was never meant to be used to bash people who not like us. It was meant to be used instead of "normal", firstly because "normal" is not a precise term and depends on context and secondly because it implies that those with autism or Asperger's are "abnormal". Think about gay people using the word "straight" to describe people who are attracted to the opposite sex.

Goodness, so "straight" was also a bigotry word for people who aren't gay/lesbian?

No, the point is that neither word was mean to be a "bigotry" word. Just neutrally descriptive.

Another myth about NT's, they don't all think we're an "inferior species of human".

Most don't even care or want to know, I have only found 2 people in my 28 years that are seriously nice people.

NT's are sane

Everybody is nuts to some degree. On one side of the nuts spectrum you have slightly weird and on the other end is psycho maniac killlers.

The most interesting thing is the more normal a person seems, more they are hiding from others.

NTs have no trouble getting to sleep.

NTs like every food.

NTs can't be weird.

NT adults aren't ever childish. (Fact: we can all be childish at times, even serious people)

NTs never get angry.

NTs can't ever be shy and if they are shy they are on the spectrum.

NTs never get lost in their thoughts.

NTs never get scared of anxious.

NT kids never have tantrums over the age of 4.

NTs are never vulnerable.

NTs never whine.

NTs know better not to smoke or drink alcohol. (Biggest myth in the world!! !)

NTs are everyone in the world but Aspies. (Most annoying myth in the world!! !)

They are very supportive of us, when we lose something that means a lot to us.

Thats actually how I live my life. I surround myself with NT's and prefer them to anybody who is afflicted. I can never get on with fellow Aspies, they are too strange to me, then again, I am more normal then most of them anyway.

If you call them "afflicted," I can see why they would have trouble getting along with you. You are no better than anyone else.

NTs are stupid.

NTs are all happy.

NTs all feel comfortable in their own skins.

NTs have never suffered.

All NTs have average or below IQ and if their IQ is high they are on the spectrum (such an annoying stereotype!)

NTs never get earache from noise

NTs have a strong immune system

NTs don't dribble in their sleep

NTs don't get annoyed about anything

NTs don't care for any routine

NTs know what other people are thinking.

NTs can feel what other people feel.

(Or these "other people" are only "other people who are like them", but not necessarily all other NTs),

NTs are able to imagine all situations.

NTs never misread body language, intonation or such.

Myth: All NT girls love fashion and read gossip magazines.
