I had to weigh the risk of coming to what may be a wrong conclusion vs. the possibility of better understanding why my life is the way it is. I believe I've come to the correct conclusion, but confirmation bias still concerns me.

To want AS seems almost self destructive.
Whats with all this BS about diagnosis anyway?
Back before I officially joined WP i spent about 5 months reading the posts of others.
A surprising amount had been misdiagnosed or had been to shrinks that refused to render a diagnosis for AS.
That in itself to some extend invalidates this notion that official diagnosis is some kind of iron clad proof of AS.
I spend months reflecting on my life and studying the symptoms and characteristics of Aspergers to the point where I was 99.9% sure I had it before i even registered with WP. I did not just decree myself as having it out of momentary boredom, apathy, or whatever.

For me I see no value added in an official diagnosis since I would get nothing from it.

The primary reason I want a diagnosis (or have it definitively ruled out) is to assist with my SSI application.
