Anyone wear hats?

I've worn a hat to protect my head from the worst of the summer sun while I was in the southern States. Otherwise I can't be bothered. Don't like the hassle of the wind blowing it off, don't like trying to hide my baldness. I've considered using a hat to shield my eyes from the sunlight but I've not tested it, and the obvious choice of a baseball cap seems too modern mainstream for my sense of aesthetics. I've toyed with the idea of a hat as a prop when I'm performing music, but so far I haven't. But I do wear a hooded coat in winter because I hate the cold wind chilling my ears. So mostly it's protection, comfort wins over style with me, but I like the idea of dressing up in principle.
