This man might fit in with the group described in this paper:
Malice and Asperger Syndrome

Autistics are a minority group and minority groups always get labeled in the press. Being a biker it makes my blood boil when I read something like "Biker caught with drugs" but never "Car-driver caught with drugs". If you're not average Joe then the press will point this out in any story.

Yes, sadly.

I wonder what they mean by looking through someone's windows? Do they mean he was right up against the glass, staring in? Or was he just walking past and casually glanced in through the windows, and the woman assumed he was clearly a peeping tom because he's "ret*d" afterall... I think that's the problem with the media, you never get the full story.

And we wonder how Hitler convinced people that disabled people should be killed. All they needed was a little push in the right direction.

I'm more amused than horrified or offended or whatever, I sort of laughed in a "heh" way. It's obvious that the writer of this article hasn't been doing enough research before he wrote that article, probably heard something about "lack of empathy" and thought that would cause his criminal behaviour.
But yeah I'm just very amused at the writer's lack of knowledge about the subject. And since I'm also an aspie (lol noooo) that makes me dangerous as well  beware of the crazy aspie she is currently unsupervised and out to cause mayhem!!

Whether he had autism or not. It is not relevant to his criminal behavior. Also claims PTSD..hmm.

Maybe the story can be even more sensationalized:
Did he have a troubled childhood?
What was his race and/or ethnic background?
Any religious influences?
Drugs?

come on media, you can spice up the story with irrelevant crap.

To the author and editor of this article: it is just awful, in so many ways--do your research.

He had a flashlight in the early morning hours, was caught looking in windows, so it's obvious it wasn't a mistake. What would you do if someone was outside your window in early morning in the dark with a flashlight? Wouldn't you be a bit freaked out. If it happened to me, I'd be scared. I would think it's a robber or someone trying to break in and it would freak me out. Big time.
