I wear boot socks, as they have a thicker material than ordinary ones and last longer. They go about half way between the foot & knee, and are reinforced on the heel & toe. The ones I buy come in a pack of 3 pairs, and the colours are navy, black, and gray.

I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.

Tight clothing and certain materials make me uncomfortable to the point where I don't want to do anything and get all cranky. This is one of the reasons I don't wear nylon stockings or tights.
Bits of lint in my socks and sometimes the seams are uncomfortable and distracting.....mostly the cheap wal mart socks, which is why I get most of my socks at Marks Work Warehouse or some other store that specializes for those who work blue collar jobs like construction, oilfield, and warehousing. Kodak wool socks and the specialized thermal socks work best in the winter.Red Wing shoes also has good socks and such. That also is a shop that specializes in work wear.

If I have an odd number of socks (all my socks are the same) I become really unsettled. When they're even again I feel relieved -- except that I fear the next time I will lose a sock because I won't in a sense have an "extra" in store. So I am in a continual state of imbalance regarding my socks. I try not to think about socks.

Then why do you even wear socks? Why not just go around in sandals all the time? :D :?

Here's a tip: before you put your socks in the laundry, pin each pair together with safety pins.

I just buy a fistful of identical colored socks at a time so it doesnt matter if each one has a mate.

Trouble is they still differ by length because they come different batches of socks bought at different times and places.

In fact I plan to inventory my socks soon.

The safety pins are a good idea, but too much effort for me. I'm a guy, and the fact that I do my laundry is itself a small miracle.

I must have about 30 or 40 "special interest" like this then. :) I just happen to think of them this week because it's getting cold. Last week it was cooking and the week before it was money management. I think they make my life more interesting. I do like socks but really they aren't interesting enough for one to think about for more than a few minutes at a time.

Oh I love socks from Mark's. I received 3 pairs as gift, two merino wool and one heat max or something like that. They're very comfortable but almost too hot for me, as I spend most time indoors. Do you find them rather expensive? My husband likes those merino wool socks from Costco. They're thinner and much cheaper (4 for $12).

A sock thread? Okay!

A few days ago, at school, I was wearing unmatching socks. I didn't care, but a couple of girls started to laugh at me.

Maybe the were laughing at you. Maybe they were expressing what they would feel if they had mismatched socks. Probably they'd feel embarrassed and are laughing because people often do that when showing mastery over negative emotions.

One sock was much bigger that the other. I tried rolling down the bigger sock, but the interior of that sock was grey.

Not good.

Well you know if they are laughing at you, it means no-one is laughing at them and we all have insecurities.

After that class, which was first period, I was so upset by what happened that I threw my socks in the garbage. :x (I was wearing sandals, so that was okay.)

Why didn't you just take them off in class in front of everyone. Fold them up together and pair them back with their match when you get back home???

Drugs, and socks, and rocknroll.

Very fine indeed!

I love socks, all kinds. I am not crazy about panty hose though and I try to not ever have to wear it.
