I always wondered wither I could pass the Turing Test, I guess now I know

You are probably not an aspie if you take these disqualifying criteria seriously

You are not an aspie if:

You decide to have your baby at the hospital than having it at home

You have kids

You are a woman

You are not a human

You don't have a cat or a dog

If none of your friends are cats and only humans

And this whole thread is sarcastic right so I am surprised at some of the responses I am getting.

I don't think people realized you were being sarcastic, it took me a few minutes to figure it out myself, getting sarcasm isn't one of our strong points.

But after reading a few responses in this thread, I thought they were being sarcastic too so I thought it was one of those threads where we be sarcastic. Lot of stuff I read in this thread is ridiculous because we're all different and not going to have every single trait. So I assumed sarcasm. Are they actually serious?

Well, I don't think they're being sarcastic (as in meaning the exact opposite of what they say), but I wouldn't say it's fully serious either. I'd call it "semi-serious" - thus also why the original poster suggested likelihood percentages (leaving room for individual variation).

My bad then. Mentioning being a cow or being dead is what made me think this thread was meant to be sarcastic, same as 50 friends. Who has 50 friends?

You're not an aspie if you follow rules you were taught just because the grown up told you so and you never saw any logic behind why that rule exists but still follow it anyway.

You're not an aspie if you are married or have kids

You're not an aspie if you can work and have held down a job

You're not an aspie if no one ever calls you out on things they thought you did wrong

You're not an aspie if you like to spend time with your family

You're not an aspie if you don't mind going to parties or family gatherings

You're not an aspie if you go to concerts

You're not an aspie if you can go to malls and amusement parks without a sensory overload

You're not an aspie if you can't hear florescent lights

Other then marriage, partys and people telling me I am rude, none of these are me.The concert thing is true also, but I might like to go to one, someday, if I am invited. I also want to be married and have kids.

I read vogue every month for three years between the age of 13 and 17. I still have images from them up on the wall.
When will I receive my certificate of normalcy?

Your not an aspie unless you've stood still in the center of your room on june the 12th at 1:00 PM, shouted "ASPIE POWERS!" and then spun around three times and clapped your hands six times. (Get the hint!) :D

I think there is the one definitive point from all of this thread...

You are not an aspie if you knew which bits of the thread were sarcastic from the start.

I don't get it. Is this because I'm an aspie?

-You were popular in school (and I don't mean academically)
-When driving you turn/change lanes without signalling, run stop signs, talk on the phone, text, etc.
-When buying clothes, decisions are based not on how it fits/feels, but what brand it is and how it fits with current trends. I have yet to figure out why they sell jeans with holes pre-ripped in them
-You could get bored on Wikipedia

you have, from the age of 3 onwards, been able to easily read facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language without conscious effort.

Why pick that particular symptom? There was a thread here once about that and some diagnosed people don't have that one, just like some don't fixate on parts of objects, lack imaginative play or hate light touch. Getting a sense of emotion from other people doesn't mean you understand the cause of it or how to react to it, or are physically able to make your face and voice look and sound right even when you can envision what your reaction should be.

It did dawn on me after a short while that league_girl's post might have been sarcastic - I mean I personally found it humorous straight away but took a while to decide that you might have actually meant it that way :)

"my wife is crazy. She puts up with my ... stuff. I think she likes me." - hahahahaha - love it! - I feel the same :D
