The Hippie Culture/Counter Culture. They're the most accepting group of people I know, which is why I love them and am a self proclaimed one.
Methinks the anarchist culture is more appropriate, for similar reasons. Modern hippies tend towards living a completely pointless hedonistic life off of daddy's trust fund... a religion of wasting time. Whereas the punk anarchists are virtually indistinguishable from the "hippies" of yore (oh, the music sounds different now, and they wear black instead of tie-dyes but don't let that fool you.) People who
do things, and like people who do things, and like to share knowledge about doing things.
Why?
1. Anarchist culture is composed largely of highly active people who care about truth and honesty. They are very accepting of people outside the societal norms, people of ambiguous gender, race and so forth. If you want to have a serious and respectful conversation, find an anarchist to chat with. And go to the local anarchist info shop to find them: those drunk idiots at that hardcore show have more in common with frat boys than they do with anarchist culture.

Please don't mistake anarchy for chaos. Anarchy has rules, lots and lots of them. Anarchy means "no rule
rs," not "no rules." Think of it as a more pure democracy than a republic could be.
