Twice in one week I was in public toilets and heard a parent saying to a toddler, ''we won't put the hand-dryer on because you don't like it do you?'' And my cousin used to scream at some loud noises when she was a toddler. She's 18 now, and is 100 percent NT.
Sensory issues mean a lot of things. I hated to be held or hugged, and I couldn't stand clothing tags, among other things. Bright light was really frustrating for me. All kinds of noises would bother me - quiet chewing would be frustrating and enraging, for example - as well as loud noises causing all kinds of problems being simply being scary/too loud to think.
