I was hiding a lot of things and keeping a lot of secrets about myself when I picked out my username. I've been wanting to change it for 5 years now. I've hid from a great many of people that I prefer Germany over Britain for over 30 years. Cockney Rebel was an act that I was putting on so that people wouldn't find me out. Imagine having a British last name and preferring Germany over Britain. Cockney Rebel was a mask.
What name would you choose now?

If you use a machine to translate "Fleidermausmensch" into English, you get "Flying Mouse Man."
"Fleidermaus" literally means "flying mouse". Thats what our ancestors thought that they were. So thats what many languages call "bats". There is even a German opera called "Der Fliedermaus" (the bat).
In German, and Scandanavian languages the word for "turtle" is literally "armored toad". A WP member from Denmark even has the handle "Skilpadde" which is the Danish version of "armored toad".
One of these days I will get my hands on your Fledermaus for some experimentation.
There better be tons of squeaking, like the opera.
