There is actually a disorder called sensory processing which a lot of people that have aspergers are also diagnosed with (me being one of them). basically clothes bother you, tags, seams, socks, shoes, loud sounds, textures of foods, being kissed on the cheek or light touches. most of you will probably be aware of it. it's worth looking into if you haven't hear of it. there are a lot of other symptoms but those listed are the main ones i can think of.

Yup. I would be happy wearing the same clothing everyday as long as it didn't smell. If my job let me wear a comfortable uniform (in all black of course with long sleeves / pants), I would so love that!....no more morning closet freak outs.

I wear the same pants (as in the same pair) almost every day, but change tops everyday.

It's such a terrible time finding comfortable pants when I need a new pair.

Oh god I have a few. For starters I hate the feel of felt. Just absolutly disgusting to touch. And i hate wearing socks right out of the package, too soft *shudders* I actually have to wash them 3 or 4 times before they feel the way i want them to. The feel of certian kinds of fuzzy fabrics. ( dont know what its called but i hate it to death),and the feel of certain black socks.

Meee 2

I get attached to an outfit and will wear it till it has moth holes or mom "accidentally" spills bleach on it...sometimes I will wear it anyway.

I like hoodies bacause if I am caught in the rain...I can just cover my head. I hate the feeling of rain hitting my scalp....it hurts like little explosions on my skin.

I hate itchy anything, and dont like velvet....love natrual fibers, hate synthetics
Cotton is my favorate to wear or lamb's wool ...but silk the best but hard to find and expensive
Beyond clothes....I love swimmimg pools and hate showers ( I been doing better about showering though)
swimming underwater is a sensory paradise.

I hope to someday go coral reef scuba diving.

*LOL* - my mom used to do that to my clothes too.
And then she'd put them in a big garbage bag and drop them into a donation clothing drop-box. My sister and I would say, someday we're going to be looking at National Geographic, and we'll see a kid in another country wearing our favorite shirts.

We'd sometimes hide our favorite clothing in our rooms so it wouldn't "disappear".

When I was in high school, I would bring my favorite clothes in my bookbag and change when I got to school.
got busted once for wearing a skirt that mom said was too high...the school thought so too so they called her.....buuusted.

My mom just threw mine away after she made them unwearable.
My dad drove me to a dumpster on the edge of town to throw away a pair of overalls I cut into shorts because after he threw them away, I just got them out of the trash, washed them and wore them anyway. He was sooo mad he was frothing at the mouth. He did not take to being blatantly disobeyed very well.

I like wearing baggy, oversized clothes. The less I can feel my clothes, the better. I am female but I wear boxer shorts instead of knickers because I cannot stand the tight feeling of knickers.

I get sensory overload on some fabrics, especially the extremely synthetic ones (I wear mostly cotton).

I wish I didn't have breasts, then I wouldn't have to wear bras. I hate the feeling of bras and I have only one everyday bra that I can wear without going mad.

I almost always wear dresses because I hate the feeling of fabric against my legs. If I must wear pants, they have to be really soft. I go barefoot all the time at home, I really don't like the feel of shoes, but when I wear shoes they are Mephisto, which is made in France because I can not tolerate the feel of others.

I like hugs as long as I know they are coming. Otherwise, sometimes I feel like a cat being given a bath. I have a baby and I love holding my baby. It's not about the touching, it's about the unexpectedness.

You know how you can't tickle yourself or really even cause yourself pain without going to extremes? This is because your brain knows to expect it. and the pain signal is turned off because you're already conscious. This is how I relate to a lot of touches. They are ok as long as I know they are coming.

I have kind of the same problem. I just hate the way it feels when pants pull tight against my knees and thighs, like it's restricting my movement. I can wear really wide leg, loose pants, or short pants as long as they are not tight. But no skinny leg or bootcut pants, and absolutely no jeans.

I can wear leggings as long as they don't have a tight waistband, and stay up where they are supposed to. I wore some today that kept riding down on my hips, and it drove me nuts. I hate anything low rise! Even skirts, it feels weird when a skirt is hanging way down low on my hips. Low rise panties are a nightmare too.

Did you ever manage to get socks that you were happy with? After finding those organic cotton ones from H&M, I'll not wear any other (except thin socks to wear with 'lady' shoes).

I like clothes that are comfortable and fit well, but not tight. Tags often bother me and I cut the tag off which helps decrease the irritation. Buying new shoes is often a problem since my feet become irritated easily so wearing high heels is not my favorite thing to do so I wear low heels and that works ok. Jeans are ok if they are comfortable to me and usually I am picky about jeans and try on several pairs before deciding to buy a pair. 8)

I hate anything even remotely tight, I don't wear underwear, I hate wearing more than one layer, and I hate thick fabrics. I would prefer to live in a world where I wasn't expected to wear clothes.

Anything too tight or constricting like turtlenecks. I don't like stockings either. Wool can sometimes bother me.

I dislike wearing suits. Especially with a tie it makes me feel rather uncomfortable and constricted, plus the texture of the trousers are very unpleasant.
