I got a pair of velcro shoes last year at K-Mart.

You just solved my Velcro shoe issue! :wtg:  after reading that I tried the Kmart on the sea plain below and bought two pair! Not perfect as they're just plain and the kids ones I wanted were decorated, but I'm going to decorate them myself. But they're Velcro ! And they fit ! Yessssss.

Neither my 12 yo or 8 yo sons can tie their laces yet. I just buy them shoes with a Velcro strap as even with repeated instruction and practise, they just can't get it.

When I used to buy shoes with laces, the 12 yo would either leave them tied up, tuck the loose laces in or ask someone else to tie them. He didn't feel embarrassed by it. He doesn't see it as a worthwhile task to learn.

I keep telling them that eventually they'll have to learn as adult men's shoes don't usually come without laces but they can't get the hang of it. The 9 yo also has issues holding a pen correctly and still can't cut his food with a knife and fork. Believe me, I've tried to get him to do it properly but he hacks and makes a mess. So in this case, I don't believe I'm at fault as a parent. Other children I have can tie their laces fine.
