Yes! I did already know about zelda 64, but I had never heard of ura/dd. I looked them up and read everything I could about it for the last 2 and a half hours! (I am excited about this now
lol.) I wish that the dd had done well in japan so it could have been released here! I want it so bad now. I want ura.
I'm surprised I had never heard of ura before, even thought I knew about zelda 64. How did that even happen?! lol.
it would take ages to explain, ive been reading about it for years.
i know that zelda URA was a expansion to Ocarina of Time, and when you were done playing like completed the game for example , you would stick the DD underneath, the n64 slotted on top with ocarina in it, and you would insert the zelda URA disk into the disk drive .
zelda URA was orignaly zelda 64, the game where you had a sword beam (! !) , you could exuipt the medalions, you clould play reeds of grass to call epona (like on twilight princess) , a well known part of the game was "every footprint you made in the sand, every pot you broke, every tree you cut would stay there for the rest of the game " , the N64 DD had alot more memory space cabaple compared to a N64 cart, and possibly more power than the PS1 unit.
since Ocarina of time development was taking so long, nintendo decided to scrap NEARLY ALL of its amasing beta features... because they decided to port it over to cartridge which means they had to cut alot of the good stuff out ...
but, nintendo promised to release all the amasing featured scrapped content from the cart as 64 DD expansion disk,, which is known as zelda URA. various interveiws and public events with nintendo have records of them saying things like "zelda URA is almost complete" , and "zelda URA is pretty much 100% complete" ... but it never released. i would trade my ENTIRE nintendo collection to just be able to touch a Zelda64 cartridge..... (and i have like 2 nes, 2 snes, 4 n64, 3 gamecube, 3 gameboy oringinal, 3 gameboy colour, 3 gameboy advance, 2 gameboy advance SP, 1 wii, ds lite, 3DS, as well a sealed games, a prototype zelda comic, many carts, lots of very rare promo displays/stands/boxes, toys, old sweet booxes (mario and link bubble gum dispenser with box) , nintendo wallpaper from 1989, lots and lots of nintendo promos and toys etc... )
some pepole think that zelda URA was re released as a gamecube bonus disk for windwaker, but it wasnt.
if you were to pre order Zelda windwaker in the USA you would get windwaker and a bonus disk called master quest, which is a ported ocarina of time to gamecube disk or if you were to pre order windwaker in the UK it was included in with the windwaker game case as a extrra disk , and a ocarina of time masterquest as another option on the disk menu , nintendo literaaly tried to "cover up there tracks" by trying to call master quest "the unreleased zelda URA" but when the exitment went down a little fans bagan to releise.... master quest is nothing more than dungens mixed around. zelda URA was so, so much more......
it has been said that some pepol at nintendo own the prototype ! !! ! i think it was ment to be either the mario club testing team, or some other part of nintendo i dont remember, but there is no way they are able to stick it on the internet or anything, becuase nintendo is a company that documents, everything! as in if anyone was to so much as take pictures of the cart they own, they would be fired, charged, and possibly put in jail, nintendo would know exalty who was to do it.
BUT you can get CLOSE to zelda ura ! ! with this glitch.
BUT it MIGHT delete the save files on your ocarina cartridge (thats why i bought 3 haha, i have 2 grey and one gold PAL collector editon one)
what you do is you have to have =
a completed save file where you have beat ganondorf.
a N64 console where the game wont crash if you so much as touch the cartridge (because that would make it very hard lol )
what you do = TRICK YOUR N64 INTO THINKING IT IS USING THE ZELDA URA EXPANSION =
start the game and go to the save file menu, before you go to make a new save file pull the left side of the cartridge up gently until the sound becomes scrambled (may take some practice) , type in name and create a file with sound still scrambled, start the save file and the game should crash, but the cart back in like normal and reset the N64, if you go to your save file menu you should see a grayed out save file that has DISK attached to it, it is unplayable because it is greyed out, that is becuase the N64 is is searching for the unreleased zelda URA expansion but cant find it, thats why it wont let you play it, but, HOW COOL IS THAT??? you can pretend to have a zelda URA save file!! ! if you fiddle around by doing the pull out cartridge trick you should be able to delete that save if you want to .
also if you own a 64 Disk Drive, you could allways insert the 64 console into it with ocarina of time, it will ask you to insert zelda URA!! !
because it is searching for it! the game is searching for the unreleased disk expansion! .
which is actual proof of how complete zelda URA realy was!! it also proves it would be used after you completed oot, because the save file glich only works if you have a completed game save file!! !
sorry... i get a bit obsessed when talking about zelda 64/ Zelda URA.....

Yeah, I saw the medallion in some videos I watched. It was equipped but they never used it! When you used the medallion, do you know what their purpose would be? Would they be like a onetime use item, like the letter from Zelda for Death Mountain for something to do with the scared realm maybe? Or maybe like a spell similar to Din’s Fire, Nayru’s Love, or Farore’s wind? Or something else entirely? Do you know? I wonder if there were other items that maybe we don’t even know about like that...
I just can’t believe that they would be all like “it’s pretty much done” and then never release it! Why would they do something like that? It sucks.
And I definitely don’t think that master quest was Ura. All it really was was dungeons moved around so they were different! Not at all what ura was expected to be.
They just did that so people would stop pestering them about ura.
I might try to do that, but I’d be afraid to lose my save files. I only have the gold cartridge. I have kept one save file on there since I was a kid. The one my mom and dad and I played when I was little. I don’t want to lose that file. Maybe when I actually have a couple bucks I’ll but another cartridge... There is no way I’d ever be able to get the disk drive. I’m sure it’s so expensive, and I’d never be able to afford that. I already blow more money than I have on things. It would be amazing. i have OOT 3D . its ridclus that they didnt add beta content in that game. since miyamoto said himself that he allways wanted to include cut out content!

the forest medalion i think, was the legendery "sword beam" attack that looked amasing, which you can see in some early screenshots.
i dont even remember the various medialions (very tired late at night reply haha) .
uhhh... theres a water medalion, forest, uhh.. fire, light, shadow (? ) , spirit (? )
i think, but not sure the water one might of had the same ability as a wate tunic had.
the fire one you can tell easily because if you go to the entrance of the shadow temple you come to the bit with all the tourches have to be lit at once, you use that fire attack that link does (din fire ? ) and if you look where you have to do it, the ground shows the fire medalion,
which means that was what the fire medalion might have originaly been for.
im not realy sure/cant remember/to tired to remember what the theroys for the others were, im not even sure if i got the names right haha. there were some very very odd unused items in the game, like reeds to call epona (like on twilight princess) , musical notes grapichs, unfinished character modles, there were street lamps in the town, there were unfinihsed polygonal birds models with flying animations, a arwing would attack link in certian situations (from starfox 64/ lylat wars) which you can still activate with a hack, there was giant exploding (unsure why) ruppes, protoype rocks, pots, grass, heart containers, uhh... loads of stuff but to tired to rember. the temple of time outside was originaly free veiwng angles (for example how you can look around hyrule feild compared to the town) , i forget how but i read somwhere that someone hacked the cart and found one of the very first games NPC's that were found in very very very early game screenshots. im trying to think... haha... if you want i send you message with links to some good information, screenshots footage of zelda beta, like whenever i remember more i send you more info if you want, just cant think at the moment! haha

somthing that i know about URA is that it enabled you to access the "legendery unicorn fountian" which is what i think became one of the many feautres made possible by zelda URA, which as far as i know lead to the triforce itself and/or a quest leading to it onwards.
i am unable to think right now as im realy tired its like nearly 5am as i reply haha.

it is recomended that you buy one or two extra carts, i orignaly boguht more than one grey becuase i thought there would be no save files spare to do ramdon things on haha.
i prety much screwd mine by doing lots of stupid stuff with them (not that glitch) but by doing silly things by constantly pulling the cart out because i loved the sensory side of it all, the fuzzy sounds, the visual stimulation etc LOL . i also loved to put the carts on my face all the time ive i was playing them for a long time. i randomly found that i can skip the entire kokoiri forest by pulling out the cart slightly infront of the kid that stops you from leaving the forst while running, you get the ocarina as normal, and when you talk to zelda you automaticly have the spiritual stone. i didnt even get the sord yet haha, the only problem was when you save the game as a kid you allways end up back in the forest right, so every time i tried to get fulther whch involved more cartridge pulling to glich past things, it would somtimes crash which would mean having to reset, and back in the forst, but, the kids act in strange ways!! !! they act like they do when you have left the forest and come back again, but, they still are interacting with the NPC scenery like in the start of the game, like the kid that pulls the rocks, he is pulling rock still, but when you run around him he fully follows you and it looks realy funny LOL when you talk to him he tells you about the slingshot, the kid pulling grass is now pulling nothing just air which also looks funny, if you talk to him he will tell you about backflips, if you go to where you learn sarias song with saria, then go back to the forst, saria (IF YOU SKIP TALKING TO HER AT THE START OF THE GAME) is still standing infront of your house, becuase doing the glich out of the forst without even doing the deku tree means everything is still physcialy as it was in the start of the game, exept (example the rock and grass pulling kids) they say diffrent things/iteract with invisible scenrey. its funny if you play sarias song with her standing infront of her house with you next to her especaily the bit where she says she would ralther talk face to face hahaa...
yes the 64DD is very very expensive, i found a very nice one on ebay, but the price was like a grand! (thats 1000)
i got a red 3DS for xmas with oot 3D and rayman 3D, i bought mario kart 7 and mario 3D land but i lost both of those haha.
i dont realy use the 3D on the 3DS tho it hurts my eyes to much.

I too have got a bit of a SpongeBob collection. I didn't know about it when it first aired, and only discovered it properly until 2003 (I recognised the character earlier than that, but I didn't know his name or anything.)
SpongeBob's always been sort-of an obsession that helps calm me down when I'm stressed, or something to cheer me up when I'm sad. In a way it's also helped me make friends, as I've met other people who are also obsessed with the show.

My interests are always very specific and weird, but I like them like that.
- My boyfriend (not in an obsessive way, but a loving way).
- Autism related stuff...particularly stuff that is happening locally or has to do with transitional aged youth.
- The Foxconn factory in China, and the crappy stuff going on there.
- Chemical Valley in Sarnia, Ontario and the emergency alarms, etc in place there.
- The Fukushima saga (or anything to do with nuclear disasters & power plants really...this has been a constant one)
- Certain kinds of music: jazz influenced r&b/hip-hop, psychedelic/experimental rock, some electronica.
My obsessions change all the time, but I can often have revivals of older ones. For example, I'll neglect certian bands and music for a while in favour of other stuff, but then become reminded of how much I really liked them.
