"lol" makes me very annoyed, I highly doubt it's related to autism, it just sounds bloody stupid....

To me, I see "lol" as being overused to the point that it has lost its impact. It has become a cliche in my opinion.

It is an efficient way to express mirth, I use it occasionally IRL. As an aside, sometimes it is pleasing to end a sentence with 'IMV' IRL imo.

It feels less uncomfortable than forced laughter, and, to me, seems less effort than a single exclaimed 'Ha'.

A lot of people I know say "ha" on texts or Facebook posts...

"Ha" just makes me imagine some guy with a top hat, monacle and moustache, totally ridiculing whatever you've just said.

Hmm I actually use lol all the time o.o For me, I use it to show that I am happy, or that I'm joking around or things like that. Like when texting my friends we are rarely serious so you will see 'lol' or 'hahaha' or little smilies like ':D' or 'XD' all the time. I don't really know if I would do it as much if I didn't hang out on an anime forum for almost my entire teenage life though o.o

But even though I use it a lot, I always use it along with an actual reply, so like I'll never just post 'lol' and be done with it. That's the only thing I really hate about 'lol'. When it's the only thing in the reply...if that makes any sense.
