I am 29. I never felt like a teen or an adult. >,< But I am not too child-like either. I don't know where I stand.

I am 25, but I feel as if I were 17-19 years old. Funny thing is, when I was 14, I felt a bit older than my age (17-19 years old - again!). So it's been quite a shock to watch my peers (who were way behind me in terms of emotional maturity in our early teens) grow up, evolve and become adults, while I remained the same.

This is just not in my head. Once, my aunt told me the exact same thing about me, using almost the same words.. She said that it looks like I've stopped growing up, while my peers evolved into adulthood...

I'm almost the same age as you and that sounds about right to me (at least socially/emotionally). I also look much younger than I am as well.

add me to this list as well.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is immaturity because at one time I have an emotional mindset of 15 while stressed but am mature in many ways acting beyond my age as if 30 (I pay my bills and am independent that's what I mean by maturity. (I don't mean people that don't have a place yet or funds to do so are immature. What I mean by this is that some NTs my age won't pay bills and get behind and ask others for help or are too lazy to get jobs, etc). Some try to get a job but cannot work: there is a difference between someone that can't work than a person that can do many jobs and given the opportunity but makes excuses sento every job not hiring them). I'm 24 by the way, and consider myself a kid at heart. I get on my kids levels at times and jump on the trampoline with them as some parents don't do this. Again I wouldn't ca it immaturity, but lacking experience in some areas . One Aspie may be struggling socially but smart academically but another Aspie may be great at social situations and struggle academically or another Aspie may appear good socially around crowds but once home it was all a front and acting but is drained from the pressure of acting normal and have a meltdown from the pressures of trying to conform. We all have weaknesses and strengths. It doesn't mean we are immature but haven't learned how to handle some situations better yet, some may never learn and some with practice learn social cues better from other people helping them or being in a prior situation and learning what that meant when it happened. Hope that makes sense! :)

I'm 30, but don't feel any different than when I did when I was 15. Maybe a bit more emotional control. Some said they feel like a kid around people their own age, I know exactly what they mean. I've got this neighbor I kind of hang out and talk with sometimes. I was shocked to find out he's less than 5 years older than me. I mean, he's married and has a couple of kids and a career and all that stuff. What's funny to me is that he seems to envy my lifestyle almost as much as I envy his.

I'm 33 and I think I look about my age but when it comes to social skills I think I'm about on the level of an 8 year old (which makes me younger than two of my kids 8O ).
People tend to pick up on this and treat me like a child, too.

I'm 55. Look like I'm in my early 40s. Still think of myself in my early 30s.

Hmm... I got that 'Old Soul' comment a few times when young. One person who was into Astrology, and believed in reincarnation went, as far as to say I was originally from Atlantis. I thought that sounded pretty cool, but also was certain there was some mistake, like they misinterpreted the signs and it actually said Atlantic City.

And now, much later, the opposite seems to be true. I have tended to retain some childlike aspects in my thinking and interests which are mostly gone from peers.

It reminds me of the Orkans and are born old and grow young.

My real age is 16.

Most people around me (mostly family/relatives) say that my mental age is 2 years younger.

Myself, I feel mentally (based on social ability and maturity) like 3-4 years younger. The people I know who are two years younger than I am is already much more mature and socially able than I am. I feel like i'm still 12-13 yo.

I am 32, but I do feel more like a 18 year old emotionally, like a 45 year old intellectually, like a 13 year old socially, and others might think I am 23-26 by looking at me(don't smoke and do not get much sun).

33 years old. Sometimes i feel like a kid excited at every discovery and new experience, but others like I've seen/experienced too much and can't stop the nightmares. Emotionally I'd say late teens, intellectually late 50's. Physically I look younger than I am, usually placed at 25 ish but have been since 18. Been told I had an old soul as well but had an odd childhood.

In some ways I feel much older than my chronological age but at the same time there are times where I am like a kid. My actual age is 29 years young. I believe that I feel about 90 based on my memory loss and aching body. I already have hot flashes! Also, most of my friends are much older than me. One of them is over 40 and the other is over 50. I only have one other friend and he's a few years younger than me. The way I feel younger is my maturity. My mental age is approximately 10-12. I am not even interested in sex yet. No sex drive. Nothing.
