I know exactly what you mean - for about a week or so I've been watching a few Nightwish videos over and over again... can't seem to get enough of them

I collect fanmade 'vids' that catch my eye, so I can watch them over and over again. I could literally do that for hours.

I do this when I'm standing sometimes. I never even noticed until I started wondering why one of my shoes always had dirt tracked up the front of it :P

I do something similar. While I can sit with both feet on the floor, if I have to, I much prefer to fold my left leg under me and sit on it.

Also. When I'm reading something online I will constantly highlight and unhighlight random sentences on the screen.

When I'm eating something that has definite parts to it (i.e. meat/potatoes/vegetables plate) I alternate bites from each type of food, sizing the bites such that I finish everything at the same time.

I have a thing for peas. I love to look at pictures of wall to wall peas. I'm thinking of using those peas as a browser theme on my new computer. :D

I thought I was the only one! I have done this my entire life. I even do it at work, during meetings, etc. I am uncomfortable if I can't do it. The worst part of weddings is having to sit. One time my boss commented on it and I said, "So... you want to tell me how to sit? Do you have a charge number for that?" And that was the last I heard of it...

(note: we use charge numbers for everything so that our time gets charged tot he correct client and project)

I'm a compulsive leg-crosser too. The only place I sit with feet on floor is at my desk in my workplace, and to achieve that I had to work at it and set the chair to the right height. Can't do that unless there's enough leg room, and sadly, university laboratory managers usually fill up all the leg room space with waste bins and consumables, so you have to sit kind of sideways.

What baffles me is why it feels so uncomfortable to sit with both feet on the ground. It's not painful. :?

For years I thought I was harming myself by sitting cross-legged, but these days a lot of people are questioning the received wisdom, and I've not noticed any harm yet. I gather Americans often think UK men look effeminate because we cross our legs too far over. I guess I'll just have to live with that.

When going up the stairs, I walk on my tippy toes

When driving a car, I have my legs in a funny position I am not sure how to describe it. I also like to sit with my seat way back and my arms straight out as I drive and my leg too because i don't like to be cramped up in the driver's seat and have my arms bended.

Stim with Happy Meal toys when I have one in my hand

Putting things in my mouth and chewing on things like my coat string

Have my fingers spread out as I walk

Have both my hands out with my fingers apart and shake them as I talk

When I have favorite movie characters, I have a pretend world with them and they all share the same fetish as me and I imagine them doing it

When walking in the rain, I tend to look straight at the ground and not look at any details except for what is in front of me but I never turn my head. I like block it all out.

I tend to not notice any cars coming when I get in my own world and I have walked in front of them a few times, one of them even asked me if I was okay and then told me he thought I was drunk. I try to be careful and keep a look out every time I have to cross

I like sniffing cats...no this is not as weird as it sounds, or maybe it is

I like the smell of cats fur. When I was a child we had a cat who was my particular friend, she spent a lot of time outside, I though she often smelt of leaves and autumn.

I hasten to add I only do this with cats who know me very well...

I usually eat leftovers cold from the fridge because I'm too lazy to heat them up and them being cold doesn't bother me. Sometimes when people find out that I do that they'll ask how I can eat it cold and think it must taste bad that way.

That's not strange in the least. Afterall, that's what they do to us :D One of my feline friends always smells of women's perfume (which I cannot figure out for the life of me, as I am a male), another always smells of forest, and yet another has a sort of sage-with-firewood scent. My friend's toothless kitty smells like that atrocious wet food.

Here's a list of some of my other 'quirks':

Whenever I'm in conversation with a person face-to-face, and starts to get anxious or stressed, I rub my forehead with a hand as if stimulating my brain.

I avoid the toilets in restrooms as much as possible. The thought of other people who had used them before me irks me, especially if they possibly aren't cleaned nearly enough.

When there are vegetables on a seperate place on my plate, I always eat them first.

I've always had a disinterest in overly popular entertainment, such as certain anime, games, movies or trivial things; e.g. Naruto, Skyrim.
I may start to like it when the hysteria calms down, though.

I can't seem to develop my drawing or painting skills.

I'm scared of roleplaying on forums again, due to past experiences.

When talking to someone, and they possibly expect me to have eye-contact with them which is uncomfortable, I focus on the spot between their eyes. My eyes doesn't seem to 'cross' this way, making it look like I'm looking at them in their eyes.[/quote]

I've a subconscious impulse to tug at the hem of my jacket/shirt, or chew on hoodie strings, whenever I'm nervous or anxious.

I seem to have a liking of carrying around an item in my hand whenever I happen to hold something, and then pace around with it without a thought of putting it down somewhere. It calms me down.

No, it's not weird. Some cats smell good anyways. :)
I've a similar thing with smelling something, but in my case, I love to smell people's hair whenever I've the opportunity. I don't know why... I just like doing it, and have since I was very young.

I don't know the answer either, but my legs are consistently crossed when I sit down. If the chair is too small for me to have my legs both up, then one is on the floor, and the other is laying across my knee. Only exception is in cars and planes, where there isn't room.

I keep a written record of how much time has passed since I last did something. I keep it on a Microsoft Word document and I keep it hidden so people don't see it, because it would embarrass me if anyone saw it.

I don't keep a record of everything I do, only with things I don't do very often. For example, "Last visited Wrong Planet: 16 days" and then every day, I open up the document and edit so the number of days is one higher. Even though it has been less than 16 days since I last visited WP and I don't really keep a record of that, my example is only an example of how my system works. I call it, my "Number file" but it is named "#".

Sometimes when I am typing on my keyboard at my computer, I get random urges to hit certain keys on the keyboard extra hard or hold them down for a little while. Most people don't even know about these things, except for the VERY FEW people I can actually trust with this information.

I eat left overs cold too. I am just too lazy to heat them up.

I wonder if it's something to do with distraction? I once heard that one reason Yoga people sit in the Lotus position to meditate is that it stabilises the body, particularly the crossed legs, against fidgeting, so that the mind isn't distracted with rebalancing the moving body. Must say I often find it uncomfortable to have too much freedom with limb movements, it's as if I can't keep still unless I'm restrained or lying down.
