Wouldn't seeing one microexpression like on this test be somewhat like hearing 3 words out of a conversation? What happened to context? Audio cues that will trigger an alertness? I would say the questions or events leading up to a microexpression is just as important to figure out what it means. Anyone who have seen "Lie to me" will agree. :)

" *blank* my foot *blank* ass" is easy to misunderstand. "If you come any closer, I will break my foot off in your ass" or "I went out walking, and suddenly my foot slipped and I fell on my ass"

32%. My biggest difficulty was spotting the expression when it happened. If I spotted the expression I tried it out myself to work out what it meant.

This was my score too, and I did the same thing you did. It was a bit of a process of elimination, too.

Thats kindof what I thought, although could be wrong of course.
Additionally, I don't know about other 'NT's but for me interpreting the meaning behind subtle expressions requires contextual or background information that we are not privy to in a simple video clip. At least thats the sort of information I use to understand people.

I`ve read that it`s really hard to fake a body language, to fake micro-expressions should be next to impossible, no? I mean, those two people doing it, they are pretending...so it would be normal that their expressions won`t trigger the proper response in our brain as it`s basically a lying. You can tell if somebody is lying because their body doesn`t lie, right?

Right. It takes training, practice and natural talent. One of the things that separates good actors from just-ok actors is the ability to do this. I don't think the two actors hired for this project are at the necessary level of expertise.

what the hell was that! Jesus that was hard. I got 0%. I have a suspicion NTs would struggle with it as well.

Also, these are micro expressions in which someone is mostly expressionless and the emotion flickers across their face very briefly, as in a fraction of a second.

Yeah, I saw that too. There's this guy just standing there, with a blank look on his face... Then for half a second, he appears to grin... But no, that's not happiness, it's fear... I gave up after failing miserably on the first 3 or 4...

Thank you for the Reading the Mind in Films and the Cambridge Mindreading Face-Voice battery!!

I scored way above NTs even, so I'm totally surprised now. I did know that I don't have a problem with body language and intonation/tone of voice, but this is weird...! !

Wow, my friendship quotient is around 83!

My problems to make new friends must be heavily outweighed by the strong relationship I have with those I already have.

Same here. I scored very high on those tests but in real life I think I am well below average. I think there are two big differences between these tests and real life. The first is that in real life there are lots of other things going on as well so you can't dedicate your whole attention to just expressions. The other is that these tests give you time to think while in real life you often don't get that time.

That's exactly what I told the AS Psychiatrist that did my diagnosis. She had said she had doubt about me having AS only because I did so well in the "Mind in the Eye" tests. My problem is that in real life I'm so busy with so many things that I never get round to paying attention to body language or facial features. This accounts for my lack of body language skills and my prosopagnosia. I don't have prosopagnosia if I'm given a face to study in the comfort of my home with no distractions for 30 minutes before having to identify that face again. So maybe we have attention deficit disorder too?
