The Holocaust used to be one of my special interests, that was depressing and unhealthy but I've tried to turn it into a positive - I know a lot and can tell people about it if it comes up in conversation and it's an important subject that people should know about.
After learning about the Holocaust in the 6th grade (I was 11 or 12 years old) I also started reading Holocaust memoirs, biographies, eyewitness accounts, etc. Threw what little faith in humanity I had left right out the window.
