I started masturbating at an early age. I did it quite a lot, and my skin actually started to become damaged due to the friction so I had to stop for like a week. When I was young I could continue quite long because I did not climax. You can imagine my suprise when I did for the first time...

As a child or younger? Nope, not at all. I think I discovered all that later than most actually.

I'm not sure if what I did technically was masturbation, since I wasn't moving any parts. But I remember always putting my hand down my pants... I seemed to like the sensation and warmth. Some of my earliest memories are of doing this. I just did it at random too, with people around and whenever... I didn't care. My family didn't seem to like it for some reason...


My family thought I picked it up from watching Al Bundy on Married with Children. But I remember doing it before I ever watched that show.

Even to this day if I am relaxing reading or doing anything I find myself putting my hand down there with no sexual motivation at all. It just feels good sometimes....

I find myself liking other warm/slightly moist areas of my body, arm pits... leg pits... putting my arm behind my head.

I started when I was four, but didn't start trying to have orgasms for several years. I had some incidents in elementary school because I didn't understand what I was doing, but my mom explained to me basically what I was doing and why I needed to do it in private; my dad wasn't to happy with even the small amount of detail she told me.

I didn't do it until I was in my 20s.

I began puberty early, and that is when I began masturbating, so I'm not quite sure how to answer the poll. I didn't start until I was an adolescent, but I was an adolescent earlier than usual.

I was between six and seven. I haven't out grown it, and I don't see a reason to outgrow it.

I was hoping that was not a serious post.

actually I embarassed to admit it but yes I was the same way growing up I kind of wonder if it was one of my tims as I had no I dead wht I was doing. Didn't figure it out till I was 16 or so

It depends on the individual, there are no real norm about it. Actually, the thing that changes generally is the way someone masturbate and the reason (when you start to understand that it is sexual).

The oldest memory of "masturbation" I have was when I was 4, I called it "reproducing like a frog" (because of some documentary, I saw similarities, ) but I think it was really different according to how old I was. Something really changed when I hit puberty. I never grew out of it, it's not a problem actually, masturbation is not a bad thing unless it becomes a compulsive behaviour and you do it where you're not supposed to.


I have other friends who have similar experiences (well, one started "early", meaning at 9, the other have the same kind of memories as I have), and depending on your definition of NT, the three of us could count as NT for now.
Many parents or doctors could tell you that almost every kid masturbate, even foetuses do it.

That is untrue. Also no-one is "initiating" anything. The topic is about individualism.

This is perfectly typical behaviour, and not the subject of concern unless it is presented with some other factor, such as injury to the skin, or a failure to adopt age-appropriate, socially acceptable behaviours.

I remember starting around age four, that's around when my dad caught me, anyway. Fortunately, he explained that it's normal and that he wouldn't punish me like other parents sometimes do (which made me think, "That's a weird reason to punish someone") because there's nothing wrong with it. They also had the sense to give a little leeway in privacy growing up, so I can't even recall another time getting caught after that.

My habits were pretty normal from then on, except that at age ten I got a little obsessive, spending hours and hours doing it to the point it interfered with homework (then again, if I didn't have masturbation, I would've just tried stalling by writing or video games or singing or fighting with my sisters or something, like I had in earlier years). Shortly thereafter, I became less obsessive about it. I think age ten is when it peaked is because that's when my fantasies started to transition to more of the adolescent type fantasy - I had sexual fantasies at younger ages, but they were of a different character, I think due to age and naivete concerning the nature of sexual encounters (I still thought then that everytime a woman got pregnant the doctors would cut the baby out of her stomach at delivery time by age seven...I didn't know the difference between stomach and abdomen, either).

If a little boy notices something that sticks out of himself and starts playing with it, I can understand.

I'll never understand how a girl in early childhood would start masturbating, though.

My first memory of me engaging in it is from the age of 5....I think I must have been doing it earlier because I'd get in trouble for it.
Is this an aspie trait?

Well, almost all little girls do that early in childhood, generally it's by rubbing their genitalia against something. That's not commonly known among people who do not have a daughter or are not a doctor.
