Exactly! I'm not trying to show off when I use an unusual word. I'm simply trying to be as precise as possible. Ironically, I do this for the benefit of the listener or reader. :)

I would say above average. Was always years ahead of average growing up and did really well on the verbal for both the SATs and GREs.
