What thought processes do you have when I say the word cat?

I get mental images of all of the cats I've been around, my friends and familys cats. Images of the big cats (lions, tigers ect..) go through my head too. And then I usually think of the facts about cats that I know.

A concept. From the word "Cat", associations explode into whiskers, fur, body movements, eyes squeezed shut, bouncing up and down the hallway, tickle of whiskers, pounce, sleep, the feel of the muscle under the fur, hiding in small spaces, basking in the sun, stretching forward to investigate...

All those things are part of "cat" and part of other things. So "cat" is not a single thing, but a nexus of concepts, an intersection of many strands on a web.

^^ this. Even ths smell of cat hair and the feeling of prickly claws in my lap. Every sense except taste throws something at me.

I picture a nice mixed patched tabby with white paws and tip on the tail, sitting there quite peacefully in a darkened room, in the middle of a glowing mist licking it's paws and carefully grooming itself, suddenley a big rabies infested Rottweiler jumps up and whilst tightly locking the cat in between his two strong cage-like jaws, begins to violently shakes the cat until it becomes....decapitated.... 8O

(Oh god, what am I doing with myself?!)
