I like the childhood photos. I wish I could post mine....my mum took many pictures of me with my hands twirling in front of my eyes (stimming) but none are online or taken with a digital camera.

In all the group pix I'm in, I'm the only lively one. Everybody else is sitting there posing pretty and I'm talking or laughing or acting silly or looking around trying to get away. But my avatar picture is the only one of me I can post on here while at work because all the photo storage sites are blocked.

My 1st grade class photo was the best because I'm leaning waay forward sitting on the floor in the front row with my pants unzipped and a big goofy grin on my face.

How do you post a pic?

find a photohosting site such as photobucket or imgur, open an account there, upload your pics from your puter to the site. you can obtain photos also from the web in general, the key is to right-click atop the photo you wish to post on WP, select "properties" [from the pop-up menu], then scroll down halfway on the properties page until you find "image path/url" and then highlight [click and drag your mouse] from the "http" part all the way to the end of the url where it says ".jpg" or ".gif" or other photographic tag. then right-click atop what you just highlighted and select "copy" [CTRL-C] - then to to wrongplanet's post a reply box, select the spot in there you wanna put the pic, type [img]then%20hit%20CTRL-V%20[or%20right%20click%20your%20mouse%20over%20the%20spot%20and%20select%20"paste"]%20then%20type[/img] and then hit "submit." it's easy-peasy :)
happy pic posting :bounce:

This is one of me and my wife .

It is the most exited I have ever been to have my picture taken . I was heavily into the cartoon " The grim adventures of Billy and Mandy " at the time ( I have always had a major interest in the physical portrayal of death and watch and read anything I can with him in )

How do you spot the aspie? He's the only one working.

I'm really not sure whether girls with Asperger's are on average any better looking than boys are. I mean simply because there are a couple of pretty ladies posting pictures on here does not make this representative at all.

I mean, just generally, women seem more concerned with looking good in photos which are posted online than guys do. Of course, I might be wrong here, but that's just what it looks like to me. On here, on facebook, on pretty much every (social) interenet space I've ever been on. So, maybe it's simply that ladies try much harder to look hot or cute (whatever they may be either consciously or unconsciously aiming at) in the pictures they post than guys do. "Aww, you're really pretty, cute, etc." still is a rather important compliment for a lot of girls, at least when their being honest about it. That seems to be less a case with guys. Might have a lot to do with how we were brought up and how society still conditions girls to lay a lot of focus on looks (in themselves, as well as in others of the same (and possibly other) gender) and guys to focus more on abilities and skills (in themselves, as well as in other of the same gender). Sure, this is not an exclusive truth, it's merely an observation cencerning tendencies that are definitely there.

Thus, I'd argue that looks might actually be fairly evenly distributed among girls and boys who are (actually) on the spectrum. Girls might just be more selective in the photographs they keep, post on line resp. aim at displaying some very specific image (be it nerdy-cute, hot, shy-hot-cute, whatever) in photographs they consider showing who they really are resp. who they want to show to world via the interwebs.

Anyhow, that's just my two cents and I know that this is by no means true for all girls (women) resp. guys (men), but even with quite a few Asperger women on here it seems to be an issue/tendency.

My comment wasn't meant to be based on anything scientific.. I don't know if it's accurate, but in my limited experience it's not even close. To me is seems the unattractive aspie girls are a tiny minority... and that attractive guy aspies are a tiny minority, but you could be right in that the attractive aspie girls may just be the ones who are more visible or less shy etc.

Whatever the case... it gives me hope for some potential aspie on aspie action. Lord knows I haven't had any luck with non-aspie women.

Completely understandable, CAL. However, people seem to generally be 'going for' someone of comparable looks (as well as level of intelligence). Not sure whether that applies to aspies as well, though.

However, I noticed that I feel myself mostly drawn to people for what they have to say, their interests, enthusiasm about certain things, kindness/behaviour towards others (including myself). With this latter point, honesty seems to be really crucial for me, as there's hardly anything that turns me off people more than witnessing them talking behind someone's back, behaving in a completely different way with different people resp. judging some kind of behaviour in others and then engaging in it themselves (esp. when love interests come into play)...well, maybe I'm just jealous and unable to adapt my behaviour and beliefs to what would make people want to know me as more than just that funny, strange and largely incomprehensible backup friend.

So, yeah, I'd say that I really get your point and wish you luck!

Everytime I am in a group picture I do this weird lean away from the person I'm next to. The guy next to me on my right has HFA, so it's not just my reaction to NT's. LoL

Yup, hopes and dreams are really quite important to keep us going, I'd say.

Nice one Toadsking. That's sort of similar to mine (pg 1), I always feel like I'm postured appropriately but when I see a photo, I'm often leaning away. My photo was taken years ago, and lately I've been trying to be more aware of what I do. I recently met up with a group of aspies and we had our photo taken. This time I was the only one NOT putting distance between my neighbours :P
