Those people who understand what autism is and want to cure it... well, as long as no-one's forced to undergo the cure, I don't see the problem. I'd like to think that most aspies' ability to decide what's best for them by themselves is self-evident. The thing is, I think some people use the term "NT" to mean everybody who's hurt them in the past. I don't see the people who've tried to make my life a misery over the years as "NT"s, even if they happen to be neurotypical. I see them as morons.
I really don't have any strong feelings regarding neurotypical people; I don't think I even understand the term. I thought everyone was an angst-ridden bundle of self-doubt and denial, held together by increasingly shaky convictions and an oh-so-thin layer of greasy skin? If I'm wrong, please don't correct me. That could kill me.
Now, reprogramming everyone who flips out when I display aspie traits is an enjoyably sick thought. Anyone trying to mess with my friends' brains will have to do it with a cricket bat lodged down their throat, though. I like my friends as they are, even if they whine incessantly when I don't go boozing with them...

In my humble opinion,I think that people with Aspergers should sue employers who fire or refuse to hire people with Aspergers/Bipolar disorder. This is the only way that this would make the public aware of the situation.
Maybe. I do see what you're saying, certainly if you're fired just for having AS/BPD. That paradox is that if I went in for a job that required good people skills and the employer was fully-informed about AS, understood the issues and everything, and was aware of my AS, I wouldn't really expect to get the job...
