Stonewall Jackson? He was def. odd, a loner, and transcendantly brillant in warfare. What do you think?
Sam Rayburn, a very famous representative from Texas seems to fit the same mold. Particulary recall that he loved baseball but was afraid to go to games in fear of being reconized without anyone near him. Lonely, (read Robert Caro's Master of the Senate for more info) brilliant and probably the most dominant political force of the 20th century. He put the SEC into law, brought about civil rights in the house, and was the longest serving Speaker of the House ever. Was also known for being totally incorruptable. Any thoughts?
Orwell Wingate (I am not sure if that is his first name), another odd general. He created the Chindits, a band of soldiers that went beyond enemy (japanese) and waged very successful guerilla wars on the asian mainland. Known for being a loner, would be said to be practically socialy inept. Used to talk to his officers while laying in bed, naked and picking fleas/ticks out of his body hair. Any ideas on this guy?
Robert Moses, "masterbuilder" of NYC. Not so sure at all with him. He is described as being a loner, but he clearly is able to connect with some people. Seems a stretch, but wondering if anyone else here has read up on him and has ideas.
HAH! I know the following paragraph really belongs in the fictional AS post but please forgive my errant transgressions
Dan Akroyd has AS? wow. I was watching the blues brothers and it struck me that his character fit all the citera; never makes eye contact (with the sun glasses and all), odd dress, odd eating (2 peices of toast), and intense interest in blues music. Plus, I don't think I ever saw him express any sort of emotion.
