All this statement shows is that you have not taken the time to know and appreciate someone like KOR for who she is. And this is not a cult nor is it group conformity, just people encouraging someone they care about. Some of us have actually had real conversations with her that you know nothing about and we actually consider her a friend. And because we know what she has been through we wanted to send a special encouragement out to her. It's not NT behavior, it's human behavior. Like Kraftie said, just because we are Autistic does not make us not human and not capable of caring and feeling and expressing care for people we care about. Maybe you have that issue but we don't all have it.

Lol, okay love.

I suppose that's why I received a PM from somebody yesterday saying that KoR didn't like replying to PMs; they told me that was the reason why they didn't PM KoR.

But yeah, you and the rest of WP are KoR's best mates.

I think KOR is a good, empathetic person who nearly always provides intelligent comment and insight, but this thread, whilst well intentioned, does come across as a little bit obsessive to me. After all, KOR is only one poster here, and isn't around right now. Imagine if someone started a "happy Christmas, Barack Obama!" thread...

If it was called "thinking of KOR this Christmas" or something then that would be cool, but addressing someone who isn't there is pretty awkward. It also might seem strange that you are singling out one user rather than just wishing everyone a merry Christmas.

I hope every WrongPlanet member has an enjoyable day every day, and I hope you all enjoy your lives, and I hope KOR starts posting on here again soon. I miss her.

This is along the lines of what I was thinking. A 'we miss you' thread isn't weird, but this just kind of sprang out of nowhere.

Hmm, strange that KOR hasn't responded to this thread. I wonder where she is?

She's been gone for a while. Others threads have been directed toward her in the past, but those were soon buried.(Another reason why I don't think this thread was the best of ideas.) I don't believe she saw those, either.

At least we're trying....and it doesn't harm anybody, right?

I hope you're 'trying' to show your appreciation for her, rather than urging her to return. Of course, she wouldn't see something like this until she returned. Threads like this would scare me away, to be honest. But I'm not KoR, so I don't know what she'd think of it. These threads don't seem to be helping. There might be something keeping her from going online, or maybe she has other reasons not to post.

I am not for "urging her to return."

I believe in people returning on their own time, when they feel like it.

The proof of this sentiment lies in some of my other posts within this particular thread.

Then I give up. What did you mean when you said you were 'trying'?

Please don't give up

We were trying to show that we appreciate her.

It would be ridiculous to "brow beat" her into coming back onto WrongPlanet.

Please read some of my other posts in this thread, so you'll know my position on it.

That's all I needed to know. And I read them after you posted them. I just don't remember them and I'd rather not reread this thread.

I have serious misgivings about this sort of thread as well.

If the person whose username appears in the title actually participates in the thread, that's a fair indication that he or she has no objection to it. Otherwise....

I know I'd find it crucifyingly embarrassing if my own username appeared in a thread title. But I accept that the intentions of the people who initiate these sorts of things are generally good.

I'm pretty sure I read a post by KOR (with a different username) on another AS site quite recently, if anyone is interested.
