I annoy my family so much by playing the same songs over and over again. I've been playing Skillets album Comatose all night long. Listening to certain songs makes me feel. And I dont know how to express the rest of that sentence. I also repeat movies over and over again to find things in them I didnt notice before, or to just re-experience some emotion being displayed on screen.

I do this with movies, too. I will watch a movie over and over again, just to feel the same emotion. One movie I do this with, is an old Alfred Hitchcock movie called "Marnie." Something about the horse scene makes me cry, every time.

I used to be much more obsessive about listening to my favorite records over and over again. I still like to listen to certain tapes and CDs when I'm in the car. The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel are my favorites. I try not to watch the same movie over and over. I plan to watch Four Minutes on May 6, the anniversary of Roger Bannister's four minute mile.

At the time when I used to listen to music, I listened to my favourite records over and over. With movies, I would usually watch a favourite scene over and over. These days there are a number of YouTube videos that I watch again and again.

Also, when I was twelve, there was a page from a comic book that I liked so much I photocopied it and carried the copy with me in my briefcase so that I could look at it whenever I wanted.

I do this. I listened to 'The Carpal Tunnel of Love' by Fall Out Boy over 300 times from last summer to the end of the year. Funny thing is, I still haven't memorized the lyrics! lol

That's so cool! I did this with a vintage copy of a favorite children's book.

I used to go through the movie repetitions big time as a kid. I remember when the first Inspector Gadget movie came out, the live-action one with Matthew Broderick. I rented it one time and I watched it 5 times in a row, if I remember right. And a couple times the next day.
I remember giving my parents a hard time as a kid when we went out to Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. They kept telling me to rent a movie I haven't seen yet, because I kept wanting to rent ones I've seen before.

But now, I have a hard time watching a movie more than once. I see it once and am done with it, with rare exceptions. This is why I don't buy movies anymore, unless it kicks ass, and I don't buy it but rent it. Some times I see a really hilarious one and I rent it to see it once more for the laugh of it. Or when Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween came out on DVD I got the Director's Cut DVD just to see his alternate ending.
But no, I'm 18 it's wore off of me since my younger years.

I'm going to be the one blushing and quietly saying in the background "You mean this isn't normal?" XD

This makes a lot of sense. Ever since I started using portable CD players and MP3 players I've always been frustrated how unaccessible and ineffective the "repeat" buttons often are, because sometimes they only play the song twice before turning the item off. Now I know why.

I have a set of certain songs that, depending on my mood, I can listen to over and over again. I have no doubt in my mind that I have probably a hundred songs I've listened to several hundred times. I use songs to feel bettr and to inspire my creativity.

Listening to new music is hard for me. I like songs I'm familar with so I can control my response to it, so I have to sit myself down to "learn" a new album. Once I've learned it, I can add it to my collection of familar and very loved songs.

When I was little, before videos became too overstimulating, I would watch certain anime over and over again. I remember when I was about eight that I really liked a certain theme song, so I just rewinded my tape to play the theme song over and over again. I would watch some videos over and over again to the point that I can recreate them in my head perfectly even now. I don't watch movies any more, though, because I always get antsy and need to relieve my energy.

I do this with songs.

Mostly when I'm a bit depressed/sad. Which means mostly looping my sadder songs - Recently been Afterglow - Genesis, and The Pass - Rush I have been looping.

Movies, not so much. Although, I don't really like TV and such that much.
