drunk is when people who saw you in the barbaric yawp of full drunken cry would call you "shitfaced." IOW when it is plain to see by anybody with half a brain. :drunken: :hic:

That's kinda like that falling tree in the empty forest thingy. If you get wasted on a bottle of man water in front of your computer, are you really wasted if no one sees you?

Only when the local Gestapo pulls you over and runs a breathalyzer test. When that happens, you're not only sh!t-faced, yer sh!t outta luck!

The only time I ever came close to being drunk was the time I used a bottle of beer, instead water and vinegar, and Old Bay seasoning to steam shrimp. Even thought I poured the liquid down the drain after the shrimp were steamed, the shrimp absorbed some of the beer, and I was feeling quite lightheaded after consuming said shrimp. I had one hell of a headache when I got up the next morning.

Other than that one time, I don't touch alcoholi beverages, even for communion.

Really. I thought alcohol is pretty much cooked out in a dish and just the flavoring left. Anyone know?

As far as I know, that is how it works. Some people I know cook with wine, and there is no alcohol left at the end (I could tell, trust me).

Maybe the temperature wasn't high enough: http://chemistry.about.com/od/moleculec ... lcohol.htm

Man, I'll fall over whether I've been drinking the firewater or not.

Gotz more serious things impairing me than some ethanol. :P

I think it's weird when people say they want to get drunk just to see what it feels like. To me that's like someone saying, "Let's eat this Death Cap mushroom so we can find out how being horrifically poisoned feels like".

I don't know what it feels like to be drunk, but I think If you spin around in a chair for a half-hour or so you can more or less get the same effect. :)

I'm not that much of a drinker & I find alchol makes me more tired than buzzed. I think I would pass out before I would ever get drunk.

Never been drunk. Really don't like the taste, but I have found some things that aren't too bad over time. Usually it's really sweet things with a tiny bit of alcohol, so it'd take a lot for me to get drunk.

Yeah, pretty much.

My usual thoughts along that line are basically: "No thanks, I dont really need to know what it's like to be really dumb and slow, I'll just pass on that."

Which are the only things I've *ever* observed when dealing with anyone that's at all drunk. Which unfortunately has been frequent. These days, I just leave very abruptly if someone even so much as brings alcohol into the room/house/something.

Got drunk once at about 13 years old.
Neighbor's mom filled us up, cause the cider was sooo delicious. I laughed so hard that night.
My neighbor got fed up with me laughing on the floor and hit me with a ball over and over... that made the laughing even worse.

After that never got as drunk.
I like to drink a beer every now and then or a little cup of the more potent stuff.

Wow...
So many teetotalling auties...
Who would have thought?
Well I would have...

I've been drunk once in my life...
It was a "scientific experiment"...

1/3 bottle of Bacardi...
Sick as a dog the next day...
Couldn't smell Bacardi for 2 years after...

Concluded only idiots would want to go through that again...
And I never have, nor do I intend to ever again...

Ha, a couple of weeks ago I spun around on a chair just for a bit of fun, and afterwards I felt awful. The whole room was spinning round and round, and I felt so nauseous. But I had only spun for about 2 minutes!

I'd never got drunk until I was 35, and that was the first time I went to a pub in Germany. Just had to try the German beer. A week later. I really got drunk on wine over in France. I will get drunk at a party about once(maybe twice.) a year. but that's it. My mother was a alcoholic and I don't want to get addicted to it. That's one of the main reasons I avoided alcohol until I was 35.

I've never gotten drunk and I don't think I ever will. To be honest, the idea of losing control of myself and having kind of a surreal experience is intriguing to me. But the idea of hangovers and throwing up afterward does not sound fun. Plus, drinking too much causes health problems, and I hate getting sick more than anything.

Doesn't work like that.

It's a mild sedative, so you'll just get more and more sleepy the more you drink until you fall to sleep/wobble around like a zombie.

Think the opposite of coffee.
