it is tough for the kids although it has changed i hope for the better since i was a kid. i am 54 but i am more autistic than aspie. don't know if the test differentiates between the two on the spectrum because the traits are fairly similar. i still have a lot of childlike characteristic traits and stims although i can hold down a job; it is very difficult with the social interactions though.
i remember being left alone to fiend for myself in the school system and often the teachers themselves left me with more emotional scars than the students. autisim was rarely acknowledged back in those days so i was mentally challenged without any type of special education intervention classes. i hated school but never hated learning. i am a highly visual thinker, a maverick i suppose. schools + visual thinker/learners = failure. it's a matter of learning how to learn as i did very well in college but a complete idiot in my childhood so called education.

5 people in my family did the quiz. I am dx'd ADD and social anxiety disorder even though everything else fits AS. My score was 143/200. My husband is being dx'd. His score was 165/200.
My diagnosed 16 year old son was 150/200. My dx'd 13 year old son was 173/200. My NT 14 year old son got 46/ 200, which makes me think that the quiz must have some validity.
