@ Boo Radley---I always use a TV show or movie as some sort of reference. Most of my 'outward' actions and dialogue is based on some thing of some sort I've seen and want to use in the future. Doesn't always work though.....Maybe it's a context thing. But, I am really glad you got it!! Was a real shot in the dark LOL

@ laurasd---Oddly enough, this instance of my special interest taking over is new to me. I think it was a reaction the amount of overload I had for 2.5 months straight. I went to China, came back to NYC and it just never let up. All the smells, sounds and sheer volume of people. China was really bad because there are so many people in such a small place and because of that, personal space is almost nonexistent. Getting crammed, banged into and well, the smells were 3 weeks of sheer stress.

I've never had it just control me to that degree. But, now that I'm out of the city, it does make a difference. We were out shopping yesterday. And even with the holiday crowds, it was still nowhere what I endure in NYC. In NYC, when I go out the door, I see more people within one hour than I did all day yesterday. And because we use a car here, no crowding on mass transit.

Next Tuesday will suck like a Dyson because I have to return to that. :(

I'm sorry, it must be horrible to get so stressed out. I used to get stressed out, but recently, I have been feeling oddly serene. I have tried meditation, and found it actually works. I was quite sceptical initially, but it does, so maybe try it yourself. If it doesn't work, at least you have tried, and if it does, then you have found a way of calming yourself to the point where the feeling to take part in your special interest hopefully wont be as strong.

Oddly enough, I do meditate. I think that's one of the reasons that I'm a bit freaked out about all of this. Everything I have done in the past is starting to fail me. The act of working those models and just doing the repetitive things (sanding and such) is quite soothing.
