Does anyone know of a autism forum that lets you post?

Thank you!

Cloudflare has done nothing to prevent the astrological spam which has been appearing ad nauseum mostly in the GAD thread and has to be removed by one of us mods almost daily and sometimes several times a day as the bots keep multiplying as new users and loading their spam.

Thus it is actually serving almost no purpose here and should be banished to Cloud City!

That's the thing. It seems just veteran users who are being slowed down or stopped, not the bots. That and you all are still left with having to clean it all out and also have complaints from users. It all sucks so much.

That what I dont get.

You get captchas when you "reply". Maybe you also do when "post a new topic". I dont know because I rarely post new topics (ie start new threads).

But why have captchas for "replies"?

The bots that work for the Mumbai snake oil salesmen NEVER "reply" to existing threads. They ONLY work by "starting new topics". So why have captchas for submitting replies? They dont protect us from anything because the enemy doesnt attack via that way.

I get that too!

Probably more consistantly then when I go through with making the post. Hafta tell them I am not robot trying NOT to post! I usually just click out of the site at that point, and then return to the site instead of going through with asking permission to NOT post! :D

I think WP could use a mobile app. Even something TapaTalk based.

I wouldn't mind the Captchas--if only they would allow me to PROVE that I'm not a robot!

AllOW!?

Sometimes they FORCE you to do that.

Sometimes they show you a panel of pictures and ask you "to pick which pictures show mountains?". Or "which pictures show limosines?"

And it STILL doesn't work!! !! !

I wish the Captchas would just let me do the few seconds of proving my personhood, in exchange for a guarantee that my post will go through, so I don't have to worry about the decent material I thought of being subsumed in Captcha oblivion.

It's almost like the Captcha Monster wants to appropriate our fine writing, so it can bypass the copyright laws.

I've now cleared the cookies and browser cache on three devices and all work perfectly. I rarely if ever get Captcha'd and when I do it's just a simple "I am not a robot" checkbox, then it posts. I wish someone would confirm that this works for them as well? If it does, there is nothing more the website (WP or cloudflare) can do as it would indicate they've made changes to fix the problem but users browsers are still using the older code locally.

Just trying it now. I've cleared all cookies and the cache in History (Firefox) - I presume that's the "browser cache" you're referring to? - I'll post again after this if it works. Up until now Cloudflare has just got worse and worse, I'd seen no sign of it when I first saw this thread, then it was the occasional "I'm human" box, now it's that and a picture puzzle, pretty much every time I post. The only thing that's helped so far is to post short tweets rather than long posts, and even that's not infallible.

It worked fine for the first 4 posts or so, but it's as bad as ever again now. :?

Could it be that we ARE robots but don't know it?

Perhaps the Captchas have this stereotypical view of Aspergian/Autistics as being robots!

I find that really hard to do, for some reason. Half the time I fail it.

EDIT (somehow I missed the latest posts) Yeah I'm starting to think CAPTCHA is up to something shady - establishing itself as an intelligent entity, and convincing humans that we're the robots... Help!

I have the biggest problem with this when I am on my phone in bed. My sleep is sporadic and I like being able to post during those times I wake up in the night, without getting out of bed. And trying to make reply post with a quote on my phone is usually impossible. And sometimes even on my PC just making a post without a quote requires a captcha session. And I also have trouble with some of the picture matches. I also usually need to edit mistakes and each edit requires yet another round of captcha.

<SIGH>

<--- Remembers the days that, when he wrote a note to someone, he had to find an envelope and stamp to mail the letter off, then wait a week or two for a reply, more if it was airmail.

I think I will throw a wobbly on the day the post office makes me do a capcha before letting me post a letter.

Wouldn't it be nice if WP had some kind of technical support service for users? Just an apology and a reassurance that somebody had been made aware of the problem and was working towards fixing it would be better than this absolute silence.......and if it's all our fault, just to be told that definitively and pointed toward how to fix it would be helpful.
